Yeah, I had hoped for a teddy bear with the Le Trac motive. :(

You know it's nice to have a t-shirt as a souvenir from a great concert, or , like LeeLene said - to make it on your own, using your personal project, putting some effort in it and knowing that you're probably the only one with such a t-shirt.

But such a mass production... Take for example the cups - just white, with no images. I can go to the supermarket and get exactly the same for no more than 5 zl (about 2 euro), the only difference is no Jarre's surname connected with the brand.
That's tricky - as you go to buy a t-shirt...OK, fantastic, I get it...let's see what's more here...a clock!...haven't I always dreamed of one with Equinoxe motif...? Sure! Mmm...some nice teddy-bear...what a great coincidence, my daughter has birthday in two-week time! Cups...didn't I need one for work..? The package is probably free from 100 euro, so why not to have one!

I know that no everybody will be catched on that, but there're also many who will, unfortunately...you'll probably say "well, welcome to today's world" and you'll be right...what doesn't mean must be happy because of that and with a wide smile change half of my wardrobe to clothes with Jarre's faces.

It's like Mona Lisa on the mouse mat....just stops to be art and becomes the part of pop-culture.

The only positive I see, is that's quite funny in some way  ...not happy, but funny.

I wouldn't be so sure :P

Don't misunderstand me - I don't really see the problem in selling t-shirts. But I'm a bit disappointed that no albums, no DVDs (I mean - concerts not released yet), just clothes and gadgets - that's no what I expected.

Maybe I'm not "a real fan", but I prefer to buy an interesting book or save some money for a French course I'm dreaming of, than to fill my shelfs with hundreds of things with Jarre's faces...

Well, it's just that some T-shirts is just small compared to all the freaking merchandise all those Christina Aguilera's have. So it's a long shot from having been "commercialized".

Whatever.

Not only t-shirts (it would be much easier to stand), but:
-cups
-clocks
-boxershorts
-teddy-bears
And so on and so on...
I'm just waiting for toilet-paper, bedding, toothbrushes ... :P

Nice that you mentioned Augilera here..that's this kind of marketing I thought of when saw the webshop. ;)
And big or little...commercialization remains commercialization IMHO.

I have to agree, I'd also prefer new albums and past concerts released on DVD than silly merchandise.

Hehe...you haven't been to Graceland I assume. There it is crazy, you can even buy pencils with the name Elvis on and that is insanely expensive. And all those stupid key-ring garbage. I was so happy that I bought some T-shirts and got a mug as a winnings in a lottery. So Jarre is not there yet!

Love Leelene <---who have been to Graceland

I guess Elvis doesn't get any profits from it... :P

I'm fully aware of the fact, that there're people making business on such things on a bigger scale. Their choice.
