I think we have to realize that not everything that is rare and locked away in FDM's or Jarre's archives will be released, or is suitable for releasing. It was most likely not a prerequisite that the more rare it is, the more it should be on this compilation. Keep in mind this is an FDM release, and JMJ probably dont want to give them too many songs to play with. Labyrinth, Dorian Gray, AOR.... if FDM doesnt have the rights to them, dont assume JMJ will give them the rights just because. Maybe he is saving them for his pension fund later, or choosing to keep them locked away.

And, there arent so many tracks from LGB on this release like some people say. More tracks are from Deserted Palace, which hasnt been re-released like LGB was in 2002. So it's fair to have a few LGb tracks included, considering LGB is better musically than DP and probably is more important in Jarre's pre-Oxygene work than DP.

To me, this new collection is just another FDM attempt at exploiting their back catalogue and Jarre's widely recognized name. It's morally an improvement over past efforts as we're getting at least some rarities this time, but I doubt AeroProd would create this album if FDM had not.

Kanta; the pic you linked to is the album cover AFAIK and someone on Facebook made a fake poster based on it.

DP is verry innovative and full of experiments, LGB is just dull and repeating the same theme over and over..

I tend to agree. I feel that JMJ was too restricted in what he could do on LGB, and it get too repetitive - like a lot of soundtracks. Deserted Palace has many varied styles and melodies.

Perhaps, but it is mostly efficient with the images... Don't forget it's a psychological Movie...

Oh absolutely. I'm not criticising JMJ. He was commisioned to write a soundtrack for a very specific style of film and delivered on it. Many soundtracks don't work as well outside looking at the film.

The whole thing is fair... Pricing is rather cheap (20 or so euros). I'm definitively a buyer.

Would be fun if he uses Pre-Oxygène material in the upcoming tour (Robi stated that a while ago).

I think that Jarre himself has nothing to do with this release(except he was the composer). It is just one part of a backcatalog collection CD's from several artists on the label of the record company.

For me the only track that is interesting is "Hapiness is a sad song". Because I never heard it (like everybody here) before.

He may have had nothing to do with the release, apart from maybe give permission for it and the new photo on the album cover.
