Variation III... It have been a nice surprise for me. Beyond of the new transitional links, new music!

I have discovered it today. It reminds me to The best new exclusive tracks of the China Concerts Albums, above all, Night in Shangai, and it reminds me too to Digisequencer.

I am very excited with this track. I think that is new music into the context of the OXYGENE soundscapes, Jean Michel Jarre exploring the way toward to find to himself. I think in this music like a bridge between the Jarre´s essential music, OXYGENE and the near future, with the french exploring these unearthed ways of the past, his own past, written with the words of the sound of today. Really, this kind of music is his true landmark in the future.

Maybe, really, not an very original stuff, and, however, it reminds a feeling which i hadn´t listening to Jarre´s music since a lot of time ago... maybe years. True Jarre stuff. Yes, Jarre Returns...

I am listening to it one and more times all time. Hipnotic, fine, electronic armonies, astro-analogic effects, sequences... This could be a great track into a new music album, because, beyond of the Oxygene context there are a lot of other unexplored electronic soundscapes like this!

Jakob, I actually meant, yes, I know this track is placed between Part.5 and Part.6, but did you actually try to play it straight away, to have an idea

I have. You'll first notice that the beginning of Var III doesn't fit with the end of Oxygene V. This is due the fact that Var III maybe isn't played from the very beginning. Also, wind FX on the end of Var III is different than of the original start of Oxygene VI. But I think that when you have Oxygene 30th they'll fit like a glove.

Wait, so there isn't going to be a mega CD+DVD(2D)+DVD(3D)+glasses edition? Or will the DVD be both 2D and 3D?

Actually, the concert is in 2D without the glasses and 3D with the glasses or the screen, you choose that on the menu of the DVD

Nah, Blu-ray sounds more dirty, almost porno-ish.





Of course DTS would fit on a DVD, most movies got it.
