If he were locked in the studio alone, with no other "collaborators", how would his music sound? It's a very good question because if you think about it, he has never made a true "solo" album (pre-Oxygene). I want to hear JMJ by himself. ...what does he sound like? We may never know...
I think we HAVE heard his true solo sound, because his process is not about working 100% alone in a (mentally speaking) closed box. JMJ is the musical chef who blends, kneads and cooks the way he wants, but without ingredients (= studio helpers) no chef can make great food. If you have ideas in your head that you need a trigger to get out, those ideas are still your own even if someone else assists in triggering them.

The greatest evidence for me that we are hearing the real and pure JMJ in all his regular albums is that they all sound different to eachother, while still retaining a red thread, or "that JMJ feeling" (and by that I am not just talking about typical sounds, it could also be the narrative concept as in T&T). A Steven Spielberg film always looks like a Steven Spielberg film, even they look different to eachother, and even if they have different DoPs or set decorators. To me, it's the same with Jarre; his albums all sound different, but they all sound Jarre.

In other words the music is set to be released only being held back by the studio untill they feel like releasing it? Well atleast that's progress, can't wait for a new Jarre CD in my collection. Now I'm just crossing my fingers for good mastering, and if not, I'll just rip the DTS surround sound channel of the DVD and downsample it to stereo, worked on: Aero, Téo & Téa, Jarre in China, Live in Your Living Room and Gdänsk (although the live concerts I had to re-redit back to the original CD tracklisting, but after couple of hours it's sound almost identical except better)

Correct, sir. And I guess that has a lot to do with the concert-or not in Perth.

And which album can be that "being held back by the studio untill they feel like releasing it" ? Trés perso or the collaboration...? :nico:

That would be a great collaboration. I was really impressed what I heard in Lyon in May 2012!

Somewhere we could read that JM uses latest edition of Fairlight. Is this would be?

I'm curious which synths are being used for both personal and collaboration album.

Some 'making of' videos or photos would be appriciated by everyone I think.

Jeanbat,

you told us some months ago, that JM has had an imagination of showcasing the new album by a big concert, the same way he did for Rendez-Vous or Revolution, or Metamorphoses. Do you know more about this?
