Nah, I really think that a toor has to be indoor, Oxygène Tour was amazing, that was like a big family celebrating the 20th anniversary together for an evening !!

We're now working on an "Oxygene tour", based on a live performance of the Oxygene album, entirely performed on vintage analog gear.

Well, that was quite expected wasn´t it?

But I surely hope it WILL be!! :P

Be sure to realise that 'working' can mean anything - working out ideas? looking at possibilities? It doesn't say anything about the stage of the 'project'. Like Claude said earlier, it's a wish. So who knows how far they advanced from there...

It's not a matter of warmth or cold, as long as the temperature is stable. TD performed in Poland in 198x at -5 degrees C. On the other hand it's just a matter of using stable gear and tune them frequently...

Do you know, how hard the tuning of the analog synths is?

It's just a matter of turning one knob. Some instruments have an auto-tune function (MemoryMoog). It's no big deal, as long as you have reliable gear.

That's why I never want a real analog synth. It's to much work to tune them and you have to maintain it reguarly. Except for the newer models ofcourse. One of the many reasons why I have a synthesizer is because I don't have to tune them like a gitar or a piano.

One question on the box set. Are there any shops who are already giving out pre-orders.

Not that I'm aware of.

As for the analog synths, you're judging too fast. I have a 30 year old Korg MS20 and it very rarely gets out of tune. I think I have had to tune it 2 times the last 3 years.

But on the other hand, the MS20 is a tank :robertdugenou:

This tour(If it happens)needs to be on a smaller scale than the Oxygene tour, more of a showcase in smaller venues with an Intimate setting, perhaps centred around a Revolving Globe as the Stage in the form of the Oxygene Skull/Earth,where Jarre would be in a Kind of Cocoon, inside the Globe which could be lit from the Inside,A kind of "Planet Oxygene "

Or perhaps a Kind of cine 180 concept(If anyone remembers those gimmick cinemas) where the audience is submerged in a Dome with Jarre's stage is in the Centre(Similar to my above idea) and the Whole dome is Kind of Backdrop for lights and lasers, and perhaps the PA was done in 5.1 a total Audio Visual Wash,Like to see Jarre perhaps make some use of the Millenium Dome in London for this???although perhaps a little large scale venue for a smaller concert concept.this way the Audience would be actually submerged into the concert both Visually and Audiably and be a part of it too perhaps utilising 3d glasses,Kind of on the 3D scale of Imac night..but actually having the visuals availible in a 360 degree view whereever you were stood.

I'd like to see him do like I've suggested in the past a Kind of mini concert playing Oxygene parts 1-6,then a Q+A session with the Audience, then Part 7-13,in a small venue of up to 50 people.

I don't think the Oxygene concept in its pure form works in a Large concert venue, sure it worked for Arenas within the 97 Oxy tour, but it wasn't centred just around Oxygene tracks, but this seems more of an insight into the realisation and feel behind the Whole Oxygene vibe, which is minimalistic.

The upcoming DVD will highlight this intimacy,Jarre isn't like on Past concert a mere Small part in a whole spectacle this is more up close and personal, a real interaction between Jarre and Audience, and needs to be given the atmosphere it deserves if it to be turned into a Gig format

or maybe he has other ideas like a Kind of Cinema type Gig,whereby Jarre Plays live at a studio and the live pictures are broadcast around the World in various Cinemas across several Cities and this is watched by Viewers in 3D, a live "Oxygene in your Living Room" Broadcast but "Jarre Live at the Movies"so you can still experience a Live Jarre concert in a smaller venue but shared with others around the world

Well, "Oxygene Tour" or not, I just wish he'd play in the States again sometime...

I really hope I can get intimate with Jarre! hehehe

The plans are only plans at the moment, nothing is signed, but I have my fingers crossed it will happen.

This is just what we all need, back to basics, seeing him close up what is is good at.

I'd go to the USA or Canada if JMJ plays there.
