I don't read much French, so does the Qobuz site state if the downloadable lossless tracks will be 96Khz @ 24bits? also, does it state which lossless format (WAV/APE/FLAC)?
Wma Lossless, ALAC, FLAC, WAV & AIFF . No DRM.
You choose the format before downloading.

There's been no official confirmation that I have seen, but it appears the the 'Essentials' disc is exclusively a physical only release. There is no sign of it on qobus, iTunes or the download section of amazon, among others.

It's great that he says "I went through my own archieves". What other wonders does he have hidden in the vault.

Hmm, yes, but why not Essential?
He has been bragging about 96/24 for the last 15 years, since alle re remastered cd's came out. ...he also tells that concerts are recorded in HD, but they are still only on DVD's

I don´t think Jarre is to blame (well partially though) but more the company he works for everytime... Sony was planning to release SACD if I recall corretly, but it got put on hold (and I guess by now canned) when Jarre left in favor for Warner... So I guess the higher quality releases are somewhere, but we just have to wait for the studios to finally do it... Anyway the current remasters are godawfull (well some are halfway decend), my vinyl records with all the pop and clicks sound better, especially with one of the CD I ripped seemed to have been pushed towards the volume limit, which is never a good idea regarding the quality!
Plus I would like to make a sidenote that the recording of his concerts in HD is probably a horrible idea, it's good for now, but what happens when the TV resolutions become's 7,680 × 4,320 (Ultra High Definition)..? Then your stuck on your 1920*1080 resolution with no possible way to get any more detail and clarity out of it... I would rather hear him brag that the entire concert was recorded on 70mm film (Imax ofcourse not 70mm conventional), now then he would have something to say that there is no possible higher quality

The problem with what Jarre states there is - so 1/ why one disc of rarities and 2/ why re-issued rarites such as LGB if he has so much more.

The tracklist on the Rarities disc is as much as JMJ wants to let FDM release. If there were any subsequent release, I think it would be via another label.

Well, we've "only" got 1080p so that is ok for now. The new concerts could be recorded in 4K as a master, but I don't see any point in telling that "live in you livingroom" is recorded in HD, when it's still only on DVD?
