Well, it has been said by him and some persons that the forthcoming album won't have a lot of publicity, not a lot of announcement, even less than AERO.
I don't understand this point, but it seems like JMJ is vanishing step by step, little by little...

That's what french fans are saying, this album will be techno orientated.
Like Rendez-Vous In Space ? Let's hope ! (I don't like techno too much...)
Tomorrow, I'll go to my CD dealer in Aix to ask him if he knows something about a probably release date

I wouldn't mind if it was something like Rendez-Vous In Space, it still had the JMJ touch. Remember he has also been through tracks like Together Now, which I also liked pretty much.

what anniversary? If you're talking about "Oxygène's" 30th anniversary, you're a year too late...... 't was in 2006

Less exposure for Jarre...maybe....but does it really matter?
I mean as long as his (new) CD's and DVD's are available in the stores and Jean-Michel is not a hermit who does not give concerts anymore there is little to complain about.
But that is just my opinion.

JMJ has changed his style very radically over the years, several times. What do you think about the release of Zoolook? I think faithfull fans almost choked... the style has evolved very remarkably over the years but we're still here. Perhaps it has to grow, but eventually we will love the new album. I'm sure.

There is a lot of truth in that.
You have to admit, that JMJ has had a lot of competion from others over the years. He has remained on top form for most of his musical life. He's no spring chicken anymore, he's 57, so at some point even Jarre has to wind down. He could have easily jacked it all in years ago, but he hasn't. A very good testiment to his musical proness. He's made his money, earned his fans and following. He is under no obligation to continue making albums and staging 'live' shows. Im certainly going to enjoy his new album, it could very well be his last.

I agree with you Vlerkje!!!
Look at Vangelis! He rarely even tours! And the soundtracks he does music for don't even perform that well at the box office, hahaha!...but he has a huge devoted following.
He and Jarre are almost like modern day Classical Artists....and those people made music well into old age!
They are not so much about image as they are about the music...Unlike your one hit wonder pop/rock/hip-hop flavor of the month act that disappear quickly only to be replace by the next one.
I don't think Jarre, or Vangelis are that replaceable.
Maybe it was the time they cam out, but I think it is more about the work (as very few artists from the late 60's/early 70's have not survived, musically speaking... hell, physically for that matter... ).
Long live the music of Jarre! ...and Vangelis!
