Antigoon, why edit your post? :? I know what I read. :|
"90% cancelled and source IS reliable."
Oh well the only reason is that you just changed your mind and thought your post was pointless. :P

On a different note, this is some info that someone send me...

When you land in Italy and u care about magazines collections, buy VanityFair Italy. There is a 3 page interview with Jarre with picture of the stage. Have not seen myself yet so I can't tell u but sources tell me that it isnot big in width but very very high.
Anyone here that can pick up that magazine and scan it, I still want to see it.

Seams like it's a last minute cancellation, more details this afternoon I guess...

Problem is that planetickets can't be cancelled so I'll guess a lot of us will still be there so to speak. Nice area to hang around I guess but not what PPL planned at all..

Ah well..

And this is what it says:

STOP PRESS!!!

Jean Michel Jarre's Management have confirmed that Jean Michel Jarre's planned Concert at the Powerstock Festival in Salerno, Italy on July 26th 2007, has been officially cancelled, as of this morning. The Official Statement regarding this announcement from Aero Productions is below:-

"DUE TO EVENTS BEYOND OUR CONTROL, JEAN MICHEL JARRE AND OUR PRODUCTION TEAM ARE FORCED TO CANCEL OUR PARTICIPATION AT THE POWERSTOCK FESTIVAL IN SALERNO NEXT JULY 26TH.

THE POWERSTOCK ORGANISERS CANNOT COMMIT TO THEIR ENGAGEMENT OF JEAN MICHEL AND OUR PRODUCTION.

JEAN MICHEL IS GREATLY SADDENED BY THIS VERY UNFORTUNATE SITUATION, ESPECIALLY REGARDING YOU ALL AND MOREOVER THOSE WHO HAVE MADE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS FROM AFAR: THIS IS INDEED THE FIRST TIME IN HIS CAREER WHERE HE IS SUBJECTED TO ENDURE SUCH A DECISION.

WE WERE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SHARING THIS EVENT WITH YOU…"

This will be posted on JARRE UK later tonight, when I get home from work this evening.

Has Jarre broken his MC-808 :pwned:

This isn't Jarre's fault it's down to 'Powerstock', so if anyone's to blame, blame them.

I hope the fans who were going get their money back or at least part of it. This is very sad but nevertheless at least there is nothing wrong with JMJ's health. When I first read that it was cancelled and not knowing why earlier today this was my first thought. :|

It's about the money. Powerstock didn't sign the contracts.

"Hello Fans,

I've only just got home, spent a lot longer out tonight than I really anticipated, so apologies for the delay in updating the JARRE UK Web-Site.

However, I have been in contact with the Powerstock Festival Organisers, who have told me that they are doing everything possible to try and reverse Jean Michel Jarre's cancellation. I will hopefully be speaking to them again tomorrow, and see if they have had any progress.

If they have no luck with this, I have also agreed to assist them in whatever way possible to provide Fans with the necessary information needed to obtain refunds.

Hoping this helps..."

Actually, that's not the reason AFAIK. According to a source on a dutch forum it has to do with PPL not returning contracts and not putting signatures on those silly papers..

Can't blame JMJ if he's indeed dealing with such amatures

Meanwhile, Dunkie has some news (posted on "that other forum")
Hello Fans,

Just an update for you...I've been on the phone with the Powerstock Festival Organisers for almost an hour this morning, trying to find out what exactly the situation is from their perspective, since I spoke to them yesterday.

All I can say, is that despite the official statement of the cancellation of the Concert from Aero Productions, the Powerstock Festival Organisers are continuing to negotiate with Jean Michel Jarre's Production Team, and believe they have a chance to solve the problems that have resulted in Jean Michel Jarre's cancellation, but they realise that they have to solve everything by the end of today.

They have agreed to keep me informed throughout the day of any progress they make, but they do believe it will be very late in the day before they really know the final outcome, which may not even be until the early hours of Sunday morning. I have given them permission to call me, no matter what time of night or morning, so that as soon as they know what is happening, I will know and subsequently you all will know too, as I will obviously pass the information on to you all, both through here and through JARRE UK.

Fingers crossed...

Well, as long as they're negotiating there will be a (small) chance I think, but aero was also pretty clear when they said it's off so....

I probably will find out when I'm there since I will be leaving for italy tomorow morning 6am, concert or no concert, I'm there having a good time.

Hope to see you all, there!
