Hi Oliver, sorry I didn't mean to forget you either. Your covers of Oxy 8 and 13 are very good too :-)

If you, or anyone else, are doing other covers from Oxy 7-13, howabout Oxy 11 or Oxy 12? I don't think I've heard any really good covers of them yet...
I'm a little late to write but what about my cover / remix :peacemaan:

Hello.
In response to tinmachine's cover request, i thought i would share my work in progress of my cover of rendezvous 4.
There are some obvious bits missing, and it aint complete, so if i wanted help on getting it right, then this is the best place possible to ask for advce,as i think monsieur jarre is a bit busy!!

I hope it sounds good to most peoples ears - if not, then dont save it!!

Cheers

Wow, this has great potential, and can't wait to hear the full length version. I think the background sounds work the best, perhaps the lead needs to be a bit stronger (not too much so, you're nearly there) - but it sounds a little laid back. Add a bit more drum links (think Houston video version) and some of the crunchy robotic voice effects, and I think you're there!

But don't take offence - for work in progress, it's great! :)

Thanks darren, and this cover is progressing all the time.
Here is latest version which is a lot better.

The string sound is panned more to the left ,and a flanger type effect has been added.
Some might say it is a chorus,or whatever, but it sounds right to my ears.
Thanks for the feedback darren.

I've been working on one of my favourite Jarre tracks, the Industrial Revolutions Overture. I've muted out my Griitttarr2 and percussion sounds for the time being as I am not happy with the way they sound at the moment, and I'm not sure that I have them correct anyway! I've also got to mix it properly.

Everything here is done using Reason 5, with a little help from my D50. I'm hoping to release all the D50 Jarre sounds as a Refill in the near future, but I've got lots of sampling to do before then! All the samples have been taken clean, with all reverb etc taken from them, which I then add back in using under Reason and are all saved as combinators.

There is only 1 actual sample from the album here and that's the gong.

Hope you like it.

D50 Refill! It would be phantastic! A i have a lot practice with sampling in Reason and with refill making. Tell me if you need help.

PS. Good cover. But strings in "refrain" are to quite.

Sounds very good.

Just a question. Aren't the built-in FX of the D50 part of its unique sound? (I don't know, just asking..)

Hi GeeJee,

You're totally correct of course! I've done quite a lot of experimenting with the sounds sampling/resampling etc. Some of them work great with all the D50 effects turned off (Machine Run for example, Gurgle Strings is another), others sound dreadful, so I have sampled them with the effects. I've tried experimening with looping as well in Reason, but again these can sound good or terrible. I'm on about my 5th version of the Griitttarr2 lead, and I'm still not happy with it - hopefully get it cracked soon though.

Cheers

To Griitttarr2. Do You sample this sound as whole sound or the separate components? I would try to sample separate components (PCM and OSC) and put it together in Reason NN-XT. Is it possible to recreate in Reason D50 chorus and flanger? Maybe is it better to reproduce the D50 osc with Reason synthesizers?
I belong the samples of all D50 PCM's but in D50 You can edit the length of this PCM in unusual way. The PCM should sound in the high zones very short and not good but it doesn't :) I can't reproduce this interesting phenomen in NN-XT (Reason sampler)
