Rone is one lucky man!

Has Jarre's career sunk? He was touring all over Europe for several consequtive years. That's not sinking. He played in large arenas, not in small backwater clubs or at obscure 80s revival festivals. That would be sinking.

Jarre likes to do unusual things, so maybe after T&T he focused on milking the tours in stead of releasing several new albums and do small tours with each of them. He could just be spreading his projects out and even though he has albums more or less finished, he may think it is smart to release an album when his diary is clean(er).

Jarre has no problem getting his records/music out to the public. He sold 80 million albums, one of the biggest selling artists of all times. His faithful fans would ensure healthy sales even if they dont reach 5 million anymore (music sales has declines everywhere). He IS with AeroProd now, so the only thing he needs is distribution, which is not the same as a "record contract". Distribution is not as risky as a record deal, so it's not as if some big company dont want to sell his records (they sign thousands of acts that sell much less than JMJ).

I think JMJ is too eager to shut up about his work, and wants to signalize he has not retired, and is just waiting for the (for him) right moment.

Yeah. That man haven't released anything on a single Blu-Ray disc yet. A medium that has been around for quite some years now.

Last spring, while promoting Technologies' product in Moscow, Jarre said he need to fall in love to write albums...or something like this.

I'm curiously waiting for what the future brings!

He told this a few times. Some artists need this status to be creative. Some need to be sad. Some need strong feelings in the nature, some need drugs, and some need other "influences" and inspirations.
I'm sure he has a girlfriend. (A woman which is unknown, with a "normal" profession)

I agree that a significant and positive change in your life always re-ignites your creativity and advances it to new heights.

Iv'e always thought that Jarre's best work started and continued throughout his happy times with Rampling from Oxygene to WFC. ( A tired old opinion - I know! )

With some artists, masterpieces come early on in their career and as we age and are shaped by life's experiences, our output is effected accordingly.

But I will always greatly admire Jarre for the huge body of creative genius he has already given us regardless of what comes next........

the re-issue of studio albums indicates a pre-promotion of the music of JMJ in preparation for a launch of a new studio album... this kind of thing happened for Chronologie with the 1992 remasters and also in 1996 if I remember rightly, for Oxygene 7-13



so it's good news!!!

Hmm...lets hope that BMG will succeed with better master recordings and mixing for their releases.
