Not sure if I exactly can follow (I am german, sorry).
Fact is, that at one special point during the over 20 minutes of webstream BEFORE the beginning they tested all the crowd-samples and claps. They switched between it. One of them repeats over several minutes without changing... And that one sample was added twice to keytar solo of JMJ during Industrial 3...

Really sad about that

I'm listening to the Waiting for Cousteau opening at the moment, and I have to agree, the clapping and audience noise is clearly not real... But then again, why would anyone clap for twenty minuts before the concerts had even started, it's kind of logical they added it during the first part

I haven't I'm afraid,the toolbar thing I was using to record the audio wasn't supposed to work with Windows 7 so I just stopped/started it for each track in case it crashed & I lost the whole lot.

Monaco Prince's Bride Makes It Down The Aisle

Prince Albert II of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock have now exchanged rings and vows in church - amid persistent rumours that the ex-Olympic swimmer was almost a runaway bride.
The pair, who married in a civil ceremony on Friday, have held a Catholic ceremony for 800 guests in their palace courtyard, including world leaders, fellow royals and stars of sport and fashion.

Around 3,500 Monegasque subjects watched on a large screen in a square outside.

The lavish dinner following the service has been prepared by a multi-Michelin-starred chef.

Organisers had hoped the glamour of the spectacle would overshadow the controversy surrounding the marriage.

There were reports that Miss Wittstock had second thoughts about becoming Her Serene Highness and fled to Nice airport with a one-way ticket home.

It was suggested she had found out a secret about Albert, who has two children with other women but is yet to produce a legitimate heir.

Miss Wittstock, 33, was apparently intercepted by royal aides and persuaded to stay, before Monaco's royal palace dismissed the claims.

"These rumours have no other goal than to severely damage the reputation of the monarch and thereby that of Miss Wittstock and severely undermine this happy event," a statement said.

The bride's father added that she did leave Monaco - but only to head to Paris for some pre-wedding shopping with her mother.

The wedding was attended by the great and the good of Monaco and royal relatives and friends from all over the world, including the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore, France's richest man Bernard Arnault and fashion designers including Karl Lagerfeld, Roberto Cavalli and Giorgio Armani were also on the guest list.

Composer Jean Michel Jarre took a starring role in a concert after the civil ceremony and an extravagant fireworks display lit up the sky of the Cote D'Azur to add to the glamour of the occasion.

The couple initially met in 2001 while Miss Wittstock was at a swimming competition in Monaco but she was not interested in romance, preferring to concentrate on her sport.

Even so she was quoted as saying a year ago that she knew at the time that he was "the one".

The pair kept in touch and, in 2008, the South African moved to Monaco, although the prince did not propose for another two years.

Prince Albert II became head of the Grimaldi family, who have ruled the tiny principality for more than 800 years, after his father, Prince Rainier III, died in 2005.

His mother, the former film star Grace Kelly, died in a car crash in 1982.

Prince Albert and his bride, who is 20 years younger than him, are expected to be planning a family sooner rather than later.

The law was changed in 2002 to allow his sisters - Princesses Caroline and Stephanie - or their children to inherit the throne, to stop Monaco returning as a protectorate to France.

Amazing concert, europe in concert style. I made an audience recording of the first rehearsals on thursday and the concert on friday (small differences between Chrono 4 lead, so that may seal the doubters if it is live or not). I'm now in a hotel in Paris and I will be back monday night. Tired but happy. Met Jarre too. And a lot of people. Curious to see what the TV broadcast will bring, I'm not hearing good things.

Not only there. You can hear that pre-recorded clapping also in rhythmic tracks like Oxygene 4 or Chronologie 4. It wasn't that apperent in the Euronews broadcast with the bad 64 kbit sound, but I can clearly hear it in the stereo webcast. Once you concrentrate on it, it really gets annoying as it is not in rhythm with the track.

They already did that at Merzouga during "Water For Life", but back then people wouldn't believe me.

I am just back from Monaco, here is a short report:

A lot of people attended. The was space for even more, but I think there were definitely much more than 15,000 people.

In the beginning the sound was not good, it was a bit too quiet, especially on Chronologie 1. During the show they increased the volume which was much better then.
But the fireworks were so loud, that you mostly couldn´t hear the music

I stood a bit far away from the stage on the promenade. The people weren´t enthusiastic at all, they sometimes even did not give an applause at the end of a track. But we coudn´t see what was going on on stage, there were no video screens with videos from the stage. That was a bit sad. We even didn´t recognize that Jean Michel attended the concert with a boat.
As I saw the TV recording of the concert and hearing the crowd, I couldn´t believe that I was on the same concert. So I think for the TV recording additional sounds were used.

All in all a very good concert, but the visualization was a bit lousy. If he uses LED screens why not putting them all over each tower, from bottom to top, from left to right. It looked liked he grapped every screen which was available in the neighborhood and pasted them somehow on the towers.
The effect of the projections would have been much better if he had more space, especially on tracks like Equinoxe 4.
I saw Europe in Concert in Berlin and there was MUCH MORE going on on the screens than in Monaco. Remember visuals on Chronologie 4 or Chronologie 2 from Europe in Concert and compare them with Monaco...
Ok, two weeks ago I saw The Wall in Düsseldorf. That was a visual masterpiece, maybe I am therefore a bit biased.

So next concert indoors again, after Monaco I am not sure if I am interrested to see it

One last thing to public transport in France: NO COMMENT

My optinion (chronological, only about the tracklist):

1. Chronologie 1: was perfect as an overture.
2. Oxygene 2: could be kicked and replaced by Magnetic Fields 4. I really HATE the new melody sequence here!
3. Magnetic Fields 1: could be deleted completely.
4. Equinoxe 5: fits pefect.
5. Rendez-Vous 3: fits perfect. But please fix that damn harp!!
6. Magnetic Fields 2: O.K. for me...
7. Souvenir of China: O.K. for me...
8. Oxygene 4: a must...

(at this place Equinoxe 7 could return - or save it as an encore!)

9, 10, 11: Replace Oxy 5 & Variation & theremin by full Ethniciolor (!). Most awful part of the concert now! WHY kill the "magic" here?
12. Equinoxe 4: fits perfect.
13. Industrial Revulution 3: Very interesting change! But JMJ should respect the original melody. I liked it anyway.
14. Rendez-Vous 2: a must... But PLEASE fix that damn ....
15. Vintage: well... äääähm .... why not?
16. Chronologie 2: O.K. for me...
17. Wedding march:
18. Chronologie 4: Where are the strings gone during the chorus??? It was the same during rehersals... Is the piece not finished for concerts yet?
19. Calypso 3: O.K. for me...
20. Rendez-Vous 4: A must, but please stop destroying it with caterwauling!!!

21. Vintage as an encore again? Naaaaah


I really appreciate that Chronologie 6 and Oxygene 12 are deleted finally...

two weeks ago I saw The Wall

This is an incredible show, just looked stunning, difficult to convey just how fantastic looks. Every little bit of the set tells a story and is there for a purpose.

I've always been impressed with Jarre's shows but after seeing Pink Floyd and Roger Waters' shows Jarre's looks quite uninspired by comparison. Often when seeing a big JMJ show for me the visuals haven't been all that, it's only when I watch it again on TV that I see everything that was going on whereas with the Floyd shows, everybody sees everything.
