The cherry on the cake would be if he did this next year for Equinoxe :fine: and if he made a completely new album in the Oxygene/Equinoxe style.

At least an album with separate parts, linked to each other by fine transintions. Style could be either one, really.

I think most of us do. At least, a lot of people prefer Equinoxe over Oxygene.

I can't say I prefer Equinoxe over Oxygene. I see why most people think so though. Equinoxe is more catchy with more focus on melodies, and beats and not so many long tracks with no particular melody. To me Oxygene has another charme that Equinoxe doesn't have, so to me they are somehow equal.
Let's see what the future brings 8) I wouldn't mind a similar project for Equinoxe.

In the Oxygene/Equinoxe song book, Jarre says that Equinoxe is even simpler in terms of arrangement and melody, which is true if you look at the tracks and compare them to Oxygene, which has more of that impovisationary style combined with orchestral composition.

Equinoxe is more composed.

And I really think it's that careful balance between improvisation and regular composition that sets Jarre's electronic music apart from others, esp in the 70's period.

Where as KS and TD went on 30 min improvisatory adventures which really tend to stretch your attention span, not to mention that their style of music, as perfectly described by KS are not as exciting as merely trying to get you to fill in the pieces with your own mind, so if you have poor imagination tough luck, KS and TD are boring (to the masses that is  )

Jarre on the other hand has a somewhat perfect balance between the flair of improvisation and a carefully, thoughfully composed piece of music, esp with Oxygene. That I think is one the main reasons why people when asked to differentiate and describe his music compared to his peers, people describe it as more human. The other being that he choose very musically pleasing timbers on both albums, even if at first some of the sounds sound faaaar out maaaaan! 8) :smoke:

We should keep on the 70's music talk in this thread, so we can go back to the actual subject about the Oxygene 3D release here.
So now back Ontopic

Would be great to have musicians, mastering-mixing experts , producer or whatever.

Michel Geiss for example or Francois Kevorkian, who worked for Depeche Mode on Violator.
