I agree. I don't hear anything unusual or bad, but I am using some cheap headphones on my phone.

Off the top of my head - bass drum too pronounced and has audible short echo, snare rolls are very far in the background. The build up at 2:32 is just one big mess. It honestly sounds like an audience recording (a good audience recording), La Rochelle is incomparably better. And there were ways to migitate this - just mix it with the prerecorded concert audio. It just looks like nobody wants to make (or pay for) the effort anymore.

I'm someone who usually can't tell the difference between 128 kbps MP3 and FLAC, so for me, this single sounds quite okay. There are probably more people like me, and that's who they want to profit from. The number of people who would boycott a purchase due to poor video or sound quality will likely be small. Therefore, there's no need to put in much effort these days.

They won't make money off me, as I don't plan to buy this album. I was in Bratislava and watched the concert a couple of times on YouTube, so I don't see the need to pay for something that's available for free. I also no longer collect physical media.

I'm actually fine with this release as such. Who wants to have a nice release about this concert, just buy it.
I also, probably, won't buy the album - I never bought live album from any other artist or band (except for China concerts of JM) - but I understand the point of having a physical thing of an event.

Yeah, I do agree with that. I'm happy that we'll get a bluray release with at least some sort of audio (and video, let's not forget that).

On the other hand: there have been enough releases in the past that have been tinkered with, why not this one? Like Jote said: the studio recordings of these tracks exist, mix them with the live audio or something.

But overall, yes, release this, it was an awesome concert. The audio sounding like and audience recording makes it more like that unique live experience :-D

Do we have any idea what region the Blu-ray will be released in for this European release?
The previous "Welcome to the Other Side" was Zone "0" free for all regions.

"0" according to the cover photo published on Amazon.

If this is a clip of the director's cut, then it's much better than the live stream, that was edited in real time. On that occasion, during Stardust, the director went for a high level drone shot from behind the stage, all the while the incredible low level fireworks were exploding behind JMJ and the UFO tower was going crazy with strobe lights. Most of that was missed in the live stream, so to see this edit today is encouraging.

I'm somebody who can't really sense the differences in sound quality that others can hear, so whatever audio mix is chosen, it won't bother me, but I'm glad the visuals have been reworked to better reflect what was a quite fantastic night.

120000 people in the audience - that's a new number, isn't it? Last year they were saying "around 100k" or "above 100k"

Yes, that's a new number. https://www.jeanmicheljarre.com/live/br ... the-future still says 100,000+

I am sceptical it was that high. It was only a conference centre car park, perhaps holding 50,000 to 70,000 - about the same as a sports crowd in a big stadium. I'm sure this 120,000 figure is including "... those watching from surrounding areas" but there weren't many vantage points beyond the car park. The residential blocks south of the Einsteinova road will have offered a view, but they can't add up to much more than an extra few thousand.

No, it's not a new number. I already heard it last year. I think it was in a press release or something like that, already a short time after the concert. And don't forget the people on and besides the motorway... :D

Maybe it jumped to 120k right around the same time the amount of sold records jumped from 80 to 85 million after someone else also realized that "you know, that 80 mil figure has been thrown around for 20 years now" ;)
