Jon, amazing pics.
shadow wrote:I just went to look at the HD recording I received, albeit it's from an HD source it was recorded from a output at 720*567 which is regular DVD resolution. So the recording is not in HD, nice going whoever recorded it
Someone has uploaded the NRJ HD version, check it out on ftp.

I just looked briefly at the quality. It appears to be HD (13 GB), but at the same time as if it was upscaled from SD. I may be wrong though, and It's still better than other versions floating around.

It looks very much like upscaled SD. In fact, it does look a little bit sharper and clearer than the untouched RTBF DVB-T broadcast (the around 3 GB MPEG File) by Icarus, which is a very good SD version. However, a not very smooth frame rate conversion seems to be have been made from 50 half frames to 60 half frames, so the pictures stutters a bit during movements if you look closely. Does NRJ HD really broadcast with 60 frames per sec, which would be rather unusual for Europe? If not, then the unconverted original broadcast video and audio stream would have been best quality.

There's also a DVD from the same channel. Maybe it was made from the original SD broadcast. My hard drive is full at the moment, so maybe you can download and check.

Have to agree there. Equinoxe was always one of my favourite JMJ album covers.

It is from the SD broadcast (no HD logo) and it is in 50i. However, the qicture quality of the HD version and the RTBF file are slightly better. The bonus is nice - I did miss the Euronews "no comment" from the rehearsals the day before. Nice photo show, too.

BTW: Thanks to all of you, who upload and share stuff.

Thank`s you all for your reports about the concert at Monaco harbour, I can´t be there , and I`m really sorry about it. So I was sitting at home to "join" him on TV .... :( well better than nothing ! But I`m looking forward to buy a DVD or Blue Ray, I hope it will be out the next time. I can`t wait ! :rev:

Your pictures are really nice , the most better than I saw in papers here. And I like the videos which are uploaded by Kanta and Elianne  They make me feel to be at the concert ! Very emotional !

The reaction here was a little bit controvers , but I think whatever he will do, some `ll like it, some not. Nobody can satisfy all expectations. If he is using playback , the concert will be perfect, but some people will say: Ok, I also can hear that sound at home (save the money, but with a glass wine in my hand...or a beer  )
When he is playing live, mistakes and technical errors can happen. But it`s human and can be very charming and special .
I also think, only the real fans are noticed the "mistakes" at the Monaco Concert, but he has a great experience to cover up such errors or nice faults :D
99% will think he has a talent to improvise.....yes he has !

I `d like to see a human on the stage, and I`ll not be dissapointed if something is going wrong the next concert I `ll join.

You are welcome, Black Bird. I still can't find the right words to describe this concert. It was really magnificent. :bravo: Lost for words even though it has been over a week. :?

I see. Any chance to extract that bonus from the dvd and put it separately? Just it would make no sense to download the whole disk just for that.

Btw, having rewatched the concert, I must say my personal favourite is Industrial Revolution, his solo blew me away, what an incredible moment it must've been for Jean Michel. He's so great live.

Hopefully, he'll do more outdoor performances in the future. Maybe next one could be in America ? It's been over 20 years since Houston and there are plenty of skyscrapers and other interesting locations all over the states

One more thing, am I the only who wants to hear Calypso 1 and 2 live again? :P Would be nice addition to his tracklist, these tracks are awesome.
