DVDs of old concerts...?

Hey everyone,

I've actually come here via eBay which I think is superb - in the Genesis bootleg trading community we've been trying to come up with a way of stopping eBay sales of unofficial DVDs and CDs for years, looks like your "Buyers Guide" to JMJ on DVD has done the job and made all the scumbag sellers go away!

Anyway, so my next question is:

Can anyone help me get hold of some live shows on DVD? I'm stuck on some very slow torrents right now downloading La Defense 1993 and Concert pour la Tolerance 1995, so I'm really looking for good DVD versions of Concerts in China, Houston / Lyon, Destination Docklands, and especially the full version of the Millennium show (I have a DivX of the 56-minute version which is amazing!) Well, actually anything would be great!

I have the Aero 2002 show in Denmark on superb quality DVD which I can trade (preferably via some kind of FTP as I find it hard to get to the Post Office!) otherwise I also have tons of DVDs from other artists like Genesis, Mike Oldfield, Pink Floyd, Yes, Muse, Marillion, and many more.

Thanks in advance for your help!

James

Yes, there is a possibility: The database of Noyau!!! All those concerts are there available for download. Maybe someone else can explain him how it works...

Hey, thanks for the quick reply!

An FTP database sounds superb... if someone can let me know where it is and how it works I'd love them forever (in a friendly kind of way, of course!)

I can try...

Here is the database. You have to register, and to make Nico a donation, because he needs a new HD for it. Then you get access to hidden pages which contain the files. Concerts, bootlegs and everything what has to do with Jarre.

I know somebody for a small fee (not me) who can burn you every concert to DVD (these things take time and effort, plus the cost of the DVDs) if I can find his email address I will PM it to you.

To be honest, you will not find good quality copies of CIC, Houston, Lyon, Docklands if they were taken from the only source: video. Im not saying the footage is unwatchable, just that you will of course have to expect that low quality.
Jarre concerts attended - Destination Docklands 1988 - Paris La Defense 1990 - Europe In Concert 1993 (Manchester & London) - Oxygene Tour 1997 (Birmingham)

That reminds that even though all fans want unedited concerts with loads of extras on DVD (so do I), I would even a buy a Jarre DVD set with all the past VHS's converetd on DVD with high sound and video quality. Of course, it should cost like 20-40 euros like TV series season boxsets... but I think it would be a good start ;)

Awesome, thanks very much - will check it out.

Before I donate and sign up though, can anyone tell me what kind of video files are on the server? Are they mostly avi / mpeg type files or are there any proper DVD files (i.e. VIDEO_TS folders?)

I realise that we won't get any decent versions of the oldest footage until someone manages to release them on proper DVD, but I definitely prefer full resolution VHS rips on DVD rather than small Mpeg / DivX files!

Thanks again for all your help - what a nice bunch you are!

Mostly it are Avi/mpeg/mov files. But the quality is as good as possible. And everyone who has it in a better quality can send it to Nico!
