Though it's good news to hear that another single will be released and that it's Vintage, but what a bummer that it's only on 'iTunes' for those of us who collect the hardware. I know this news comes from Jarre's managment, but is this final. I hope not, a nice CD of this would be well received.

I agree with all others. It's great to hear about another single, but iTunes-only ... I don't like that. I prefer to have a physical item. Then again, it may be easier to cash in, as I guess a physical cd release is more expensive.

Exactly... I think Warner/Aero Prod. doesn't want to waste the money on producing and packaging a physical CD Single from an Album that is not doing that well (unfortunately :( ) so this is the cheapest and easiest way to get the most exposure.

..I'm still sad that Jarre never released a physical CD of Bourges. I would prefer that over this CD Single any day.

I think that the die hard collectors should either stand up against the plans to release only on iTunes in the future (that's what's coming for all future releases I think) and should stop collecting the day "Vintage" is released on iTunes.

At least for me, this would mark the end of my collecting activities....

Still, I don't believe that "Vintage" will remain iTunes only, there will be hardware promo CDs and vinyl I hope, but for the commercial release, it will remain a downloadable-only release

ehm...

Did you guys read at all what dunkie wrote?

Only the remix by the special guest artist will be exclusivly available on iTunes, the other mixes AFAIK are gonna be on a physical item...

But the fact it's a 4 track CD single does worry me a bit, maybe I'm wrong. Dunk, can you clarify a bit?

you're right... our fault. I guess the term "iTunes" evokes some sort of not so optimal feelings in each of us Image

so there's a 4-track CD single, plus 2 tracks only to be released on iTunes, as far as I understand. Still, a clarification from Dunkie would be helpful.

Then again, Dunkie wrote: "As far as I am aware, no CD Version is currently planned, but I will ask Jean Michel Jarre's Management again for clariffication. In response to hoping for good remixes, I have heard them both (the additional remixes), and in my opinion, you will not be disappointed."

That's what I understood too...

If so I guess this one will be a torrent download. :hypocrit:
