Since many years I'm a great fan of the wonderful website Jarre.ch from Oliver. It's one of the best sites in the web - I visit this page very often to look for new informations about Jarre releases. But sometimes I don't understand the politics of your website, Oliver. There are some official Jarre releases which does not appear in your database and I'm always asking myself "why?"... Maybe you can explain it here, Oliver, so everybody here has a better survey about the "system Studer"... :D

- in some posts you talked yourself of "a few old videogames" which contains JMJ music. But why is in your database only the game "Captain Blood"?
- in this forum there is a scan of the soft erotic movie "Lovely # 1" which contains JMJ music. But this item is missing in your database...
- what about the movie "9 1/2 weeks" - official release with Jarre music (okay, only one track)...

I think that's all I want to know... No more questions.

Yes the track Arpegiator was used on the film 9½ Weeks starring Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger.

BTW Congratulations jp8000 on your 2000th post. :D

Don't want to answer your question, Oli... but I'll do so anyway :punch: :pwned:

Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Possibly because he hasn't any titles and/or scans and/or details.

Perhaps he's not aware of it as nobody told him (yet)...

Possibly because he's not aware of a VHS/DVD release and/or has no scans/details...
Then again, the list of films which contain original JMJ music is possibly endless and has basically nothing to do with JMJ unless he was involved in the soundtrack himself... (e.g. "Strike")

Don't forget Gallipoli...That film introduced me to Jean-Michel Jarre. The scene with the guy running through the desert to Jarre's Oxygene is amazing!

Even though Jarre didn't compose the music specifically for the movie, Peter Weir's film would not be the same without it! So yeah all that stuff is important!

I's like "w0000t?" when I saw this topic...

but yes, Ludger has a point there. There's a whole section about "Captain Blood" (it's the second last section, just between "Bootlegs" and "3.5Inch Disks")

The reason why other DVDs / VHSs weren't included (yet) in this website are different: be it that I don't think there is a possibility to list just everything where JM Jarre's music was used for a score (so I just displayed the major movies such as "Gallipoli", "La Maladie De Hambourg", "Le Dernier Palawan" etc). Or I simply didn't know anything about those movies (not the case with the ones you mentioned here, Ludger :-) ), or the latest reason: I don't have the images for / from those releases or other further information.

What ever it will be, going much deeper in the movies' section would kinda (hehe, there's my favourite word again) have this website explode, since I planned to only orocess all the infos that I have here, plus some information arriving here on CD-R, then stop (except for new JM Jarre releases to come). I realized that getting into it again after some time of pause takes me not only ages, but also very much energy.....

We will see..... ;-)

Hope this answers your kwestshns
