I'm so looking forward to this release, as Blade Runner is my all time favourite film. It holds up even today, not something you can say about Terminator, for instance, or any other contemporary film, and it even surpasses modern productions. It's so ahead of its time! To me it's picture, atmosphere, sound and music in one perfect unity!
I gotta have the 5-disc edition.

It's so long ago I saw the VHS I've almost forgot about Blade Runner, but ofcourse not the music.
Looking forward to this!

I dunno whether to get it on DVD or HD-DVD or Blue-Ray!?
Blu-Ray...
In the end it will be Blu-Ray. It's all about storage + quality. Plus here in the U.S. Blockbuster, Costco, Best Buy, Apple, Sony (PS3) etc. are really pushing BD...
The studios are leaning towards BD exclusively as well and when that finally happens, well...

That looks pretty neat. And now I have this weird cut somewhere... I feel somehow I can never sell that to anybody... is it as worthless as I think it is?

Nope, but it's not much worth either, as it's not rare in any way.
I like the Director's Cut, as I think the original ending gives too much away, and kinda look stupid.
I remember when I watched the film at the cinema in '82, I thought it was a very strange and weird film, but later in '86, when I got it on VHS, it became my very favourite film of all time.

Hahaha, I love people's stories of how they found Blade Runner the first time they watched it.
The first time I did, I didn't know what to make of it - it has the effect of leaving you totally dumbfounded. But of course, through time, it becomes one of your favourite movies of all time.
And Titanic so stole that love scene from BR.
