Hi all,

I've just got a Korg R3 and I want to hook up a computer MIDI software sequencer to it...

Anybody know any simple (ish) apps I could use?

Cakewalk springs to mind from years ago!

Cheers

Lee

AAh Ok,You didn't stipulate that

Cubase is a decent program, you have several Versions,Depends on what your looking to pay,

You could probably pick up a cheap Copy of VST V5 for next to nothing,or you could advance to SX or Cubase 4,your talking around £200 upwards for the basic up to £500,these are different programs to VST,although the files are compatible its a different layout they just have more advanced editing facilities, depends on your needs which version would be suitable.VST5 hosts Audio,(But it depends on your Host machine specs also, the faster and large memory the better)and is more or the less the top of the Line of the VST versions but a few years old now but still holds up to todays standards.

SX is more powerful, but both are no longer supported and both host the whoe shebang of availlible software synths,I don't have any experience of Cubase 4,as they refined the standard SX layout,I have since turned my back on software. If your new to using Cubase, then maybe look for the LE and SE editions, these are basically just SX with Minimal features..but a cheaper alternative

I used to use a combination of VST and SX3 for the last few years, but I've gone back to a Hardware sequencer(Roland MV8800)
