Can someone specify where exactly in the docklands the JMJ stage was present in 1988?
A lot seems to have changed since.

The concert was held at the Victoria Dock..

Do you see the cranes?

Do you recognise the shape of buildings in the water (shadow) Those were used as the backdrop...

Or just look in your docklands program guide mate, it's all very clear inthere ;-)

No, that was where the audience was at. the stage was floating in the dock and those buildings you see south of the dock were the background

The whole dock was concert area IMO... not unusual for JMJ concerts ;-)

When I was in London I did visit the Docklands but I did see the royal docks. Still I didn't miss to see the real cranes as symbolized on most DD artwork :peacemaan: It looks like the Victoria dock hasn't been spoiled with tall buildings and people in suits, as the parts of Docklands I saw :|

There is only one warehouse (building) left on that area of the docklands. The rest and the large cargo crains are long gone. The building (that I have ringed) is the EPAX exhibition/conferance centre. The rest are car parks for that centre and swanky pads and houses.

very intresting topic.

the place looks great. and as I see it is not far from London center, earlier I thought it would be closer to sea.

I wonder, how big is the building to hold 200 000 people on roof..

The people were actually on the quays alongside the dock. The building was build years after the concert as part of the redevelopment of the area.

Yes I watched the Making of today, they both show it from a helicopter and you can see them with a map with writings on at the exact locations.
