I like it too, but it doesn't work well when tried to use it when gone to bed.

that promo is quite rare to find....

But I also love every single second of this one. As far as I can remember, during the "Concert D'Images" exhibition in Paris 1989, this music was on, but it was slightly longer than one hour....

I used the "Waiting for Cousteau" track for a private vhs video gallery of my paintings in 1996. I remember that my first reaction to this track when I bought the lp in 1992 was very negative. I was deeply disappointed by discovering that the entire b side was wasted with a so repetitive and moody track. Nonethless of these first idionsicracies, within few months and after many listening sessions inside my darkened room, I felt that the lack of a definite melody and rhythmic patterns represented a clear poetic statement regarding the sound power to evoke alterated states of mind, a perceptive phenomenon somehow very similar in terms of effectiveness to the medianic perceptions and to paranoid audio-visual hallucinations. Often I used to support the audio experience staring at the Salvador Dalì's The Real Painting of "The Isle of the Death" by Arnold Böcklin at the Angelus Time, or listening to the track with headphones lying on the seaside at the twilight.
Therefore when I began to listen also to the 46 minutes version on cd, I realized that this wasn't intended to be a conventional music track, but instead an atmospheric and multi-dimensional cocoon everyone can live into without thinking about a starting and an ending point. Though I listened to it hundreds of times, specially during my painting sessions when I need a sort of sound crysalis where letting my thoughts flow while my hand is hypnotically moving the brush (more recently it helped me to concentrate on the writing of my last novel "Endometria") I still think this track was the most challenging and esoteric in the entire Jarre's discography.

I don't often listen to Waiting for Cousteau but when I do, it seriously relaxes my mind and body. A great track to put on at a dinner party or just to listen to when you need to become less tense.

One of Jarres great "winding down" tracks - I just love it.

I always listen to it while i'm gaming and the music of the game is worse.

I love it too... Though I didn't like it at the time I bought the album. Maybe Jarre could do another epic track of this kind ?

It's the same track but was renamed. Only early promos of the album had the title Cousteau On The Beach .

It's a completely different version of the title...

I think Antigoon was making a joke saying it is a completely different version of the title NOT the track itself... maybe I'm wrong but I was thinking Antigoon was having fun...

Especially since Cousteau on The Beach and Waiting For Cousteau are the EXACT same length of track!
