As we all know it is about 20 years ago that Tjernobyl made headlines all around the globe. The accident there was so terrible and effecting the world at a global level. Maybe this was the first accident that was truly global in a sence. Today the opinion is splitted in most countries about this. And I'd like to know some of the different countries points of veiw and how the opinion is in your country to write an article.

I hate this nuke power! If this Tsjernobyl-thing happends again, it may kill me!

Yes, I support nuclear power. Especially if they get fusion reactor done, it might turn things interesting.

Even though there's a risk with nuclear power, Chernobyl accident had more reason than "it was a nuclear reactor". I'm not that worried yet.

Tjernobyl was a mixture of bad comunication and bad maintenance. They did an experiment that went wrong.

I have grown up close to a nuclear power plant (Ringhals). I could see it from where I lived during the summer and I have never been worried about it.

You can't compare the old nuclear power plants from Soviet with the ones we have in the west.Of course, there is some bad examples in the west as well, for example Sellafield, but over all the saftey is very good.

And if we get around and figure out fusion, then many things will get much better.

I never think about as there are no nuclear power plants in my country. Coal isn't good for the environment. I support windmill technology

There's nothing wrong with Nucleair power, and like Finaero says, if they get that Fusion thing working, things can get real interesting...

I'm worried about Soviets thinking they can do the same in some odd laboratory with dated equipment, half knowledge and half care. I bet if they decide to launch one of their nucleair bombs and aim it at America, it'll blow their very own kremlin. They have other things to worry about I guess...

That's the problem here. We close our nuclear power plants so we have to import energy from Denmark and Poland that comes from coal

I'm against nuclear power, and we Danes have been fighting the Swedes for many years to make them shut down the Barsebäck power plant. It has finally paid off!

Yes, so now we have to buy energy from the danish coal plants instead. Very enviromental...

What about using water power?!?

I'm not really against it, but at the moment, it seems that the UK government only see nuclear power as they way forward. The UK is a (very windy) island, so surely windmills can be used!!!! They're MUCH more beautiful than nuclear power plants too!

Hey, Soviets were peaceful people. Check the history books for more info (Cuban Missile crisis was actually averted by the Commies. Yay.).

Nuclear power is cool, and no I'm not worried about another Chernobyl, as accidents happen. Fact of life, these things happen sometimes

Its sure the catastrophe was 20 years ago, but Csernobil still does effect at its region very hardly!

I heard workers, who helped there after explosion, did their work without gloves!!!
