Let's hope this one won't sink to the bottom too quickly.

why do you think Oxygene did so well the first time around?? when You've worked out the answer then you'll have the same answer as to why it won't be as such in demand this time around.

This release will only really be bought by close Fans, and perhaps once promotion Kicks in will be bought by a handful of other not so close fans, but are interested in this Project if they were fans of the Original Oxygene or past Jarre works. Its not gonne shift 14 Million copies, irrespective of their Being a DVD concert to back up the music.

Don't expect it to sky rocket up the charts, because pure and simple it won't..and give it a little time too,its still early doors with sales anyway 53 is still Quite low considering its only been out for less than 4 days in the Uk and less than 2 weeks in France..

You'll find that there will be a mass surge in units being sold around the first few weeks by the die hard fans then it will die off then a resuregence to those fans who maybe didn't buy it prior to the Paris Concerts, and any after concert promotion in the Media.

I don't care whether it hits high chart Positions,to me its a sucess in Jarres career and one as a Long time Fan since the early beginnings that has taken me back to those Early discoverings of His Music, something I was starting to lose Faith in Jarre to deliver with the past average Decade of Music to me this Concert DVD is more special nd gratifying as a Fan than it being No.1 in the DVD or Album charts,of course that would be a Bonus, but not essential.

Agreed.

Even though it might affect EMI's interest in future Jarre releases :|

I think it'll do better in the UK, he was very big over here apparently back in the 70s, and look at the publicity he's been getting, BBC Radio have been going ape on him!

As amazing as this release sounds (and it sounds amazing) ths is not going to result in some stellar sales. It's really just a smart and sort of original way for Jarre to reinvigorate his brand (The Jarre name) while marketing a temporary product to:

1.) Wash over the negativity (both in terms of critical response & sales) surrounding Teo & Tea

2.) Act as a filler until he is able to record a truly new album--much like bands do when they release a greatest hits package.

Don't get me wrong, I love this release and I hope he does the same for Equinoxe...but more and more I get the feeling that Jarre may not have any really new ideas left in him and he has become a bit like those 80's bands that just tour, re-release old material in a new package and tour some more...

Like I said, nothing wrong with this if that's all you want. I guess I just want something more. We'll wait and see...

People buy only DVD version (CD including), NOT CD version. 53th position is place of CD version, not DVD version.

But since it's an album which has a bonus DVD, it should be in the album sales.

He's been doing really well on the UK iTunes site. No.1 in the Electronic top 100 albums and 25th overall. He's got another 5/6 albums in the top 100 as well. Oxygene and Equinoxe have been in the top 20 for months now, in fact ever since his back catalogue became available on iTunes.
