^ It's quite sad to see so many people play so many games for so much of their life. Young and old.

There are things infinitely more important that everybody could be doing and learning about.

Games are an escape from reality and there is no worse thing one could do to their life.

On the surface, that gif is funny, but thinking about it in broader terms, it's just sad.

I stopped playing games probably once I was around 21 or so. Not that I have no time for them. I could if I wanted to generally speaking.
But just that there are more important things to do.
Looking at it that way, yes there is no time for computer/console games.
I did play 2 games since then, but that's nothing in comparison to before or to other people.

I think they preoccupy way too much attention in today's society. And the numbers tell that that is so. The industry makes more money off people from games than music and movies combined.
If everyone is busy playing games that much, and games take considerably more time, attention and effort from the person than music and film, then when is everyone going to live their real life?
Or if they are somehow managing it all, are they sure that they are living their real life to the full or is there so much distraction in society that people are slaves to their desires, without realizing it.

One also has to ask the question, how easy would it be to control a society like this. Where the people have no clue about real life issues, or enough experience in real life to recognise how to get themselves out of their problems, not just individually, but socially.

All more pressing questions than knowing how to collect minerals.

Don't even get me started about those people who pay actual money for virtual objects/properties.

Real life is far more interesting than anything games can come up with.
You can learn infinitely more in real life than when you spend time away from it playing games.
