OK, i know that he was specialized in outdoor gigs, but apart from this...Just wonder, he could do tour for example between 81-86, in this period he had no big events.

He could make tour with albums O, E, MF, Z for example...right?

1. JMJ is not in these days

2. He may be too old for big gigs

3. and the last thing is that those concerts are very expensive to build

Easy . . . . . Jarre new that in the late 2000's, fans would have devices called MP3 recorders, so he waited until now to stage the concerts so the fans would get the best pirated audio verisons possible. Well, he is looked upon as ahead of his time.

Anyway, I'm pleased he's done the concerts in the first place, be them late in his career. We would be complaining if he hadn't.

I think JMJ should tour when he releases a new album each time :clap2:e.g. Madonna does that.

Well I suppose its what concept fits to what idea's he has at the time and how he wants to portray his music.I don't think its fashion,or genius just mere experimentation.

You can see how media and music has changed by the increasing amount of people using the internet for musical applications,your audience becomes wider but the concept becomes more isolated,so there is less need for big concepts if you can experience the same event in your Living room.In the 80s it was not possible to share a global web concert unless it was via your TV,but even those audiences were limited due to broadcast,so it was more idealistic to share a large scale concert by going to the event,and besides Jarre's grandiose events were always connected with some form of special event or anniversary rather than actually for promotional purposes like a Tour concept

Jarre could have easily done the Oxygene Tour in the 70s,with the same philosophy,but it obviously wasn't how he wanted to connect the audience with his Music,and didn't see the logistical point in it,prefering the idea of One offs,but the concept of these intimate concerts wouldn't fit the same scale as Houston or Docklands,his music is universal in both events but just think the intention of it makes the differences,and that is down to his own perception of what the Music is trying to say

oh people are going to hate me now but... i think that jmj should do the following

1. finish oxygene tour
2. release new album. how about a continuation of rendez vous? even jmj said we need to reevaluate our link with space...
3. one last tour.
4. a massive old skool concert and then retirement

i know, i know i am evil but i think a huge retirement concert in lyon would be super. he would go out with a bang.

Retirement? I have never heard about such statements among musicians. Of course you are free to have your opinion, but I disagree. JMJ is still full of inspiration and he shold give us some nice music as long as he find it possible.
