I set up new theme about this concert,there was which not . JMJ though organize on turning-point of century at famous Pyramids. I was not it on this Concert Live, in that observe time in rates TV. I invite for participation in conversations on this theme .

I this concert. Everything about it apart from the fog. JMJ carried the show like a true professional, beating the weather like he does always. My favourite tracks are Millions of Stars and Souvenir of China. I usually have difficulties choosing my best tracks but not in this case. I want an official release on DVD.

Oh yeah - this is a classic. Love the new arrangements of the tracks, and the visual part of the concert was astonishing as usual.

I have to agree, the arrangements were superb - especially Equinoxe 4 - superb.
It was notable as being the first gig I noticed that playback was obvious - Oxygene 4 the culprit here - but I put that down to timing being absolutely critical for this concert in particular.

Did the fog laser harp limit the visibility for the audience (I'm thinking of Rendez-vous 2) or was it spectacular as usual?

It was the fog that caused the main limitations, I think. The track had no problems.

Gary fell ill with the flu.

Egyptian hygiene isn't particularly healthy.

but great gig!! Loved Millions of Stars. Should watch it again because it seems to be stuck in the back of my mind.

I was with a friend at this concert and the laserharp was not visible during Rendez-Vous 2. But I tell you that we are at the VIP-places (Back, like 400 meter from the stage I think!). Only we can see the fireworklight and -sound behind the fog. It was realy spooky...

It was too bad that the projections on the pyramid didn't work during the show, they were planned thou. Also the plan to reveal a new golden tip on the top of the great pyramid at midnight didn't happen. Sofar I understood it was because they weren't sure if the pyramid would be able to carry the golden tip... And I always thought the ancient Egyptians were such a smart builders?!

Wasn't that the first part of the SquareProd Sound Design demo (at least my version was called that)? The latter one being the track Metamorphoses AKA Body Language (Bourges 2006 iTunes).

This is a special concert for me, as the first time that I saw Jarre on TV was when the Egypt concert was broadcast after the New Year's Eve back in 2000. I taped it, of course!
