Remembering Michel Geiss comments about Equinoxe recording, I have this supposition :
Differences of Equinoxe 5 versions was probably due to Dolby and No Dolby mixes. Michel Geiss certifies that is NO different mixes of Equinoxe tracks.
For the story, when testing the sound of Equinoxe 5 on cassette in his car, Michel Geiss realized that sound was better without Dolby. I can imagine, that several versions on Cassettes and LPs was with Dolby, whereas next LP album was without Dolby. Not sure, but I suppose.
Dolby A or B is system that reduces noise and so makes a better signal/noise ratio on analog medias (tapes, cassettes and vinyls). Revox B77 includes Dolby system.
Has you said, Dolby is a noise reduction system, not a "generator of what wasn't here before or was very down in the mix".
When you ear the Mazur Mix, expect the fact that the quality is poor, you can clearly ear The eminent is louder, there are some extra gimmiks etc....
but it's an interesting thing to now that there were with/wthout Dolbly records
@Matt=> My Equinoxe 5-6-7 version are in standby for now, i have to replace all my eminent sounds with Cromina plugin, and use my new minipop VST which definitly beat the drums i've already makes
