Hello everyone,

I recently found an old box of cassettes containing various radio shows (AM and FM broadcasts) that I recorded in the 90s. Some of those recordings are interviews with Jean-Michel Jarre (in French), as per the index I conveniently wrote on a piece of paper and stored with the tapes at the time. I plan to transfer the tapes to digital files to save the recordings, probably this summer. Would anyone be interested in those files when I am done?

Date — Description — Source — Duration

1993-06-24 — Vinyle Fraise — Europe 1 — 06 min
1993-07-27 — Mont-Saint-Michel preparation — Europe 1 — 02 min
1993-07-27 — Mont-Saint-Michel preparation — RTL — 05 min
1993-07-28 — Mont-Saint-Michel preparation — Europe 1 — 18 min
1993-08-23 — Grand Format (biographical interview) — RTL — 83 min
1997-08-20 — Barbier de Nuit: Oxygène Tour (rerun) — Europe 1 — 20 min
1997-10-12 — Oxygène Tour — Europe 1 — 18 min

Loosely related:
1996-08-23 — Vinyle Fraise: Christophe (no JMJ) — Europe 1 — 10 min

Also, if anyone has any advice on how to transfer tapes to computer (preamp, level adjustment, recording tool, bit rate, etc.) that would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

Hi i know that you can buy a usb tape player / walkman that you can connect to your pc and record the tape with a recording software, I bought one of them a while ago and it works fine.
i use it together with magix audio cleaning lab that i configured to record in lossless flac format

or if you have an tape recorder you can connect the output of it and connect it to the pc's soundcard input with a cable like this

i hope that this could help

Hi everyone,

I know summer has been over for a while now. I still haven't converted my old tapes. I've been side-tracked by so many personal problems that I haven't even started checking the tapes. Been a little too optimistic about my "free" time. I just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten. At this point I may have the tapes done by the end of the year, but don't hold your breath. Thanks for your interest.

Cheers,
