Sounds more like Rendez-Vous to me...

I think they used a little bit of March 23 trumpet here.

The whole melody line from March 23 is taken from a sample library, which makes it particularly embarrassing when Jarre pretends to play it in concert...

I think you might be confusing albums here, it's clearly Second Rendez-Vous :o

I wonder if that's a premade beat or anything... at any rate, very interesting find!

(Even though that's one of the most annoying music videos I've ever seen)

Annoying? You obviously didn't grow up with Amiga demos :)

True (I did use a Macintosh Plus 'til 1997, though >.>).. however, those are fine. But there's just a certain amount of someone's malocclusion that I can watch ;]

Also quite a stretch, but do I hear KORG Minipops in this version of YMO's Firecracker?

It's just that I tend to associate the Minipops 99% with JMJ ... and the remaining 1% to that live version. <_<

Either he's sampled it or it's built into the Yamaha DJ-70, see here:

I'm sure one of the gear experts on here can let us know

Ooh, nice find. Yeah, I guess it'd make a lot more sense for it to be a preset than JMJ lifting off a sample from a really obscure band.

(not that the later doesn't make any sense, but still)

Heard this on Beats1 radio today.

Boogie - Oh My

....heavily samples Second Rendezvous. Seriously, the sample is repeated throughout the entire song, while Boogie raps over it.

Wow! Utter crap. What happened to hiphop? The whole genre has been a joke since the early 2000s. It's now like hair metal in the early 90s. Here's to hoping hiphop will get its grunge movement!
