The sound on a "LP" is mush warmer and better than the sound on a "cd". For example: The "LP" of "The Concerts In China" is better on "LP" than on "cd". It sound warmer and the bass-part is mush better in my opinion.

The only bad thing of a "LP" is: tooooo big for using in your car. A "cd" is smaller and compacter for using everywhere (walkman, ...)...

I love a lot LPs, I have CiC in LP and CD and when I want to listen to it, I listen to the LP !!
I have not a lot of LPs, CiC, Oxygène, Equinoxe, Rendez-Vous but I discovered many sounds I didn't notice in CDs
That's why I look for Zoolook LP, I am sure I'll rediscover this CD :P

LP are more and more warm, I prefer LPs, that's sure !! But CD is much better to take in a car (despitly, there is no LP readers in a car :P)
On LPs, the sound is clearer, more "detached", you can listen to each part separately, instead of CDs (despitly :()

edit : I wanted to notice too that I have Houston/Lyon only on LP and I think I'll be disappointed if I listen to the CD :(

Good idea for a topic! :D

Generally I'm a big fan of LP - the advantage of CDs is that they're more "handy" but considering many other things (the most important is sound - as you mentioned, "warmer") LP wins :)

Pity that I have so little contact with it now (I don't have a suitable player), but I'm planning to make my own LP collection as soon as I've some more money

Track markers ? You mean that you can see where a track begin and where it finishes ? Of course yes, it rocks !!!! (but it can't be seen on Oxygène and Equinoxe :P)

While LP's fascinate me and indeed seem to have warmer sound, but even as a child I always listened to things from cassettes... so I missed the LP boom so I prefer CD's :)

I really don't mind. I love LPs, but hardly have the time to play them while CDs are much more portable.

I have a few JMJ albums on tape... I'll try to play them and see if it makes any difference to CD...

I have several JMJ albums on LP. I agree that LP's features warmer and generally better sound than CD's, but CD's are much better to portable.

I got my first CD-player in 1986, and I haven't looked back ever since. :P

No, I don't have a turntable anymore. I've only kept the vinyls for sentimental value. :)
