Culture After about the President of the European Commission "The exception is not reactive"
The cultural exception sown discord between Brussels and Paris, where the Minister Aurélie Filippetti responded strongly to yesterday about José Manuel Barroso describing the French reactionaries.
Everything smelled the scent of victory, celebrated between cultural professionals, artists (Jean-Michel Jarre, Alain Chamfort, Axel Bauer, Radu Mihaileanu) under the Ministry of gilding rue de Valois, moreover the day of the fortieth anniversary of the Minister Aurélie Filippetti. He had not reckoned on the comemorative mid-day signed José Manuel Barroso. The cultural exception? "This is part of an anti-globalization vision that I consider completely reactionary" has tackled the President of the European Commission in an interview with the International Herald Tribune, "Some say they left, but in reality they are culturally very reactionary. " Barroso had then tried to minimize his words. But the damage was done.
"Europe creators"
After lengthy negotiations (13 hours), European trade ministers had agreed Friday the French requirement to exclude, at least initially, film, television, internet and digital content of discussions to be open the free trade agreement between the EU and the United States (see also page 7).
"The cultural exception is one of the traditional missions of France" began Aurélie Filippetti before a clear answer to the attack Barroso. "We are not in a defensive position, nor conservative, especially not reactionary," she insisted, "we need a regulation set of new tools for the modern and dynamic Europe." She is in favor of a "Europe of creators," in opposition to the merchants, who would for example in France "we broadcast 99% of American films, while 42% in France, c ' is well. "
"Actors" this victory also responsible Barroso. And Pascal Rogard the SACD (Society of Composers, Authors dramatic) yesterday called for "shame" the speech of multilingual President of the Commission "first aid bankers and businessmen." All were urged not to be complacent. "The internet giants scoff at our defense," testified MEP Henri Weber (PS), "some even have a clear desire to return through the window."
The victory was celebrated way David against Goliath, but it is certainly not definitive. The EU Trade Commissioner, who will represent the EU in these negotiations, insisted that the visual was possible that "temporarily" discussions.
Jean Michel is hitting the news here in France every six months : January the tax exile issue, June, the Author's right issue.
Lots of artists are backing him on the second point.

You can't go against all the trolls going around.
They are like kids trampling down sandcastles…
Reading the comments......what about the credibility of the man in France? Everyone laughs at him? "He - JMJ - would deserve the spanking..." and more like this.
Honestly. What has he been doing wrong getting much of bad opinion?

He can't expect to win everyone's backing... This is part of being someone who speaks out about rights.

Thank you, I see your point, though I expect an opinion of a Frenchman.

Robi, there is no reason to take JMJ's commitment to a more equitable exploitation of intellectual property, into the ridiculous draw. Or torpedo this. Maybe you do not have his opinions, but of mine from, you can continue prophecy his artistic downfall. (You will never achieve this. What he did create, will always be there) He has not signed contract to produce constantly music for our pleasure .He alone is the director of his life. No one else (except maybe a higher devine) . It is quite remarkable, laudable that he defended his interests (and the legitimate interests of all artists) publicly. It is important more than ever to find a solution for it. Otherwise we might soon must to dispense to many creative creations. I'm proud of him, because he will not places his legs high, sitting lazy in front of TV- set at home, drinking beer like many of his contemporaries, but he devoted himself actively to other important tasks. Certainly quite different than these jealous stupid people, which hide on the internet cowardly anonymously and insult him. He is intelligent and will not be distracted by those stupid comments.
You should not you show solidarity with these envious

I am his fan on Facebook but I sure do not do repeats and yes sometimes I send him hearts etc with my posts. The large majority of fans come for new info and mostly based upon JMJ's own official postings. (Believe you me, I would like to have a moan at some of the fans who are bullies but I think it should be kept away from the public so to speak...)
Let's try to keep the thread ontopic and keep negativity out of here. This applies to all.
