One asked in kvr audio this but he/she caNnot register here and i also want know more about this subject which is reason why i ask this:

Jean-Michel Jarre 5th Rendez-Vous - Can anyone here recreate that sound?Hey, I would love to recreate the main 2 synth sounds used on JMJ's 5th Rendez-Vous pt. 1
https://soundcloud.com/seanchristopherdockery/jmjrv5th

If you've recreated them, or think that you can, I would love some assistance. Also, if anyone knows what synths were used for 5th Rendez-Vous pt. 1 it may also help.

Thanks in Advance!

Guess it's the additive Seiko ds-250-310, but not sure

Old Thread, but maybe this helps:

I have a Seiko 310, but haven't used it for a long time. I should give it a try again :-)

Some guys on other forums said it was created on Casio CZ 5000 which is also mentionned on RDV. Some of them re created that superb sound on the DIVA 2 VST plug in.

I'm absolutely 100% convinced it's the Seiko DS-250 (and you do need the 310 programmer) owning a CZ-5000 too.

I agree it's the DS 250. Listening to all examples of this synth I'm convinced. You can hear it in the chorus parts of Rendezvous 4 also.

Never mind. Pando below has I think the definitive version of the sound and they used the Seiko DS-250. Still, I got close!

I know this thread is really old now but maybe someone can use this information!

Because I'm stupid I'm currently doing a cover of every track on Rendez-vous, trying to recreate the sounds as closely as I possibly can. I'm 90% sure that the synth used for Fifth Rendez-vous is the Casio CZ5000.

Good effort with the CZ.

However, Jarre did this track almost entirely with Seiko DS250 + DS310 module.

Here's my recreation of this sound using DS250 with DS310. This should end any doubt.

Jarre used Synthex and the Seiko together predominantly in that album. Others were mostly used for blips, bloops, effects, and percussion.

Yeah, that's definitely it. Nice one! Are you using the original hardware or a VST?

Original hardware (Seiko DS250+DS310). I haven't yet found a VST that comes close to that.

Yeah, I tried the Castle Instruments DS-250 Kontakt library, which is based on samples. It's a pretty good effort to be fair to them, but it's just not quite right. Preset 10 (for example) has some very nasty harmonic distortion going on, which makes it unusable as far as I'm concerned. Shame, because in many ways it's a great recreation with an interesting sound. Just not fully realised.
