France Info Radio new station sound by JM Jarre
A new distinctive audio identity arrived on air Sept 1st, featuring Jarre s electronic music unique signature and strings. We had the chance to work with the Orchestre National de France at Studio 104 (Maison de la Radio) conducted by Bruno Mantovani. Having arrangements played by 60 string players is a real treat. Add to this a great sounding hall, great engineers…the results are fantastic and will soon be on air.

Franceinfo changes its look and changes its signature

Sound has been reworked and reorchestré - without being upset - by none other than its creator, Jean-Michel Jarre.

Director of the Franceinfo radio station, Laurence Jousserandot, who commissioned a new cover in August 2018, reminds that "the sound is used rather quickly in radio". According to her, there was therefore a need for a "general refresh" of the dressing. Jean-Michel Jarre has provided more than two hours of composition to Franceinfo's management.

Wow, is it really 3 years since the last one!

I hope there will be another album release for this refresh, though it doesn't sound massively different in that video.

Jean-Michel Jarre tells how he composed for franceinfo, radio, television and the web

A sound design heard by listeners, viewers of channel 27 and Internet users with the franceinfo application. It's the sound of a news channel surge celebrating its 5th anniversary in the form of "global media". And this “push”, which interrupts information alerts several times a day, was composed by Jean-Michel Jarre. Like all sound effects on radio and television.

Franceinfo's sound DNA is pushed on one side and has a call sign on the other. Jean-Michel Jarre explains. As soon as you hear 3 seconds or 2 minutes of the sequence, you know you are on franceinfo. This was the basic challenge as a musician. It is basically that music can convey information, whatever it may be, not only in its variety but also in its homogeneity.

Creating media packages is a very special task for Jean-Michel Jarre, a pioneer in the world of electronic music since his collaboration with the musical research group (GRM) Pierre Schaeffer and his first album. “We had to avoid anxiety and be able to express ourselves dynamically in a contemporary arrangement, but at the same time the theme was able to convey something very universal across the generations. I am very. I decided to design the theme quickly. It was also a way of involving the l’Orchestre National de France. Musically speaking, it has both a rhythmic side and a sequence side, and so continuous. It is to be able to give tension.“

For beginners on the grid from 2021 to 2022, Jean-Michel Jarre wanted to introduce a little lightness. “We want to get out of this rather dark period. I have done a lot of minor modules. It seemed very important to me to be of age to spread the language a little. Palette from an atmospheric point of view.“

Please lord, with how hot of a mess it was to get a hold of 10 (and once again, thank you very much for helping with that one), I rather not see 11 happen. I'm still in disbelieve I ordered through three stores in the end, and not a single one was able to deliver.

Looks like Radiophonie 11 will be a compilation of different artists though:
Radiophonie volume 11 presents the sound universe of some Radio France channels: France Inter, France Culture, France Musique and Mou'v. The compositions of Loik Dury, Christophe Minck, Christophe Heral, Arthur Simonini, Rémi Quencez, Clément Léotard and many others, reflect the mood of each channel. Established in 1975, Radio France is a national broadcasting company. The building that houses Radio France is the largest ever built in France. Not only does Radio France present it's aforementioned channels, it also provides 44 local stations.
Not France Info, no Jarre on Radiophonie 11, it seems.
