Jean-Michel and Mike could be an awesome collaboration! Mike covers a very wide spectrum and could easily be "non-acoustic" enough for Jean-Michel.

Or maybe Jean-Michel could spread his wings in Mike's direction, and they could call it "Acoustica, Vol 1"

Oh yeah and Pete Townshend wasn't acoustic?

Anyway I think Mike Oldfield should have gone this path anyway.
New remasters of the old stuff plus all the fans calling for the "old Mike back again".
What else should he have done?

Only thing I can really think of because of that track:

Its a shame Jarre sees MO as "too acoustic"; I think MO has done a fair stab with synths over the years himself, although I am more of a fan of his acoustic stuff. I think it would have perhaps taken Jarre out of his comfort zone a bit to work with MO and that could have led to something great. Two great composers in their own right.

Oldfield can write lyrics as well. So I'm not sure why JMJ would work with Moby and not MO.

I have always wondered if this track inspired JMJ to do Oxygene 5. If you listen to the part from around the 4 minute mark until the end then you can hear some Oxygene 5 in it. Or am I crazy Btw I'm not saying JMJ copied the track, it just wouldn't surprise me if listening to this track gave him the inspiration to do Oxygene 5. I just find it intriging.
