My favourite JMJ album is Chronologie, in part because it came out in 1993, an important year in my life. While Oxygene and Equinoxe have always retained their French spelling, how and why did Chronologie become Chronology as the reissue? It is unthinkable that Oxygene would be repackaged as Oxygen! Does JMJ get a say over this? If not, why not?

Chronologie being renamed to Chronology bothers me too. In fact, the Chronologie tracks were called "Chronology" on the Aero compilation in 2004 already.

Also on the Aero compilation Zoolookologie was renamed to Zoolookology, it just does not look right at all.

Never understood why, and I've always resisted the change. Any new compilation or re-release ended up with the original title on my hard drive.

Yes, me too! I'd never file anything as Chronology!

I've always preferred the original French titles. I even refuse to use "Magnetic Fields", as it loses its meaning when translated to English. TBH I never understood why they went with "fields"...

It's a pun: Champs and Chants sound the same in French. Champs Magnetiques = Magnetic Fields and Chants Magnetiques = Catchy Tunes

I know it's a pun. But the pun no longer works in English. And the proper translation of "Chants magnetiques" would be "Magnetic chants". The pun is lost, but at least the meaning of the original title is correct.

While it helps that "Second Rendez-Vous" is the same in both languages, I'm always gonna refer it to as Rendez-Vous II ;p
