I usually point out where JmJ inspired others, others copied JmJ, where JmJ was the first to do something compositionally in Electronic music.

I will also point out where others inspired JmJ, where JmJ copied others.

This Vangelis 1979 Brussels concert of his China album with Orchestra

for me JmJ copied this was inspired by this for 1981 Fishing junks at sunset.

There is no way to be certain whether JmJ was in the audience, I wouldn't be surprised Brussels is easy to get to for JmJ.
JmJ was aware of what Vangelis, TDream, KSchulze, Kwerk were doing.

Fishing junks sunset was based on a traditional chinese composition that comes from the ages…
Jarre adapted to the chinese orchestra.

This is known at least amongst zoolook forum members.

I should have been clearer.

It is the way JmJ placed his Electronica within a traditional Chinese instrumental, with Orchestra,
for me is borrowed copied inspired from this 1979 Vangelis China concert with Orchestra.

I can't be certain. It's just a guess.
