As more muic is released exclusively on iTunes, I dread the day we won't be able to hold a CD jewel case in our hands.

With the latest iTunes is a program called "Jewelcase" that creates a virtual CD jewel case with Front, Back and Spine Artwork and info.

Here is where I found the software: http://www.opticalalchemy.com/products.html

Some examples below:

They can do what they want, virtual will never be the same as the physical object.

Ok with Synthesist, a shitty Epson print will never replace a REAL print and CD...

Exactly!

This is interesting idea, but I still prefert to have a normal CD, which I can touch, feel with my hands, put personally into a player...

Btw - I heard about new Japanese fashion of having a sort of virtual house - there're people who every month invest money in buying things like virtual carpet or lamp to make it more attractive (what's more it all disappear after some time...for me it's a sign of loosing contact with reality.

Japanese? There has been a Finnish chat room called Habbo for nearly 7 years or so where you've been able to buy virtual furniture and stuff in your virtual hotel room :P

As for this virtual CD case, I guess it's kinda neat, real CD's and cases are of course better ;)

Even though I have to admit if full Jarre concerts start to get downloadable on iTunes I won't really care if there's a real CD involved or not.

Oh, it seems I'm a dated girl, what a pity :P

I hope you're not the one able to loose half of pocket-money on new virtual curtain...? ;)

We do also have something called Netstationen, you could actually sell these furnitures for real money because it was so popular and became a life for alot of youngsters.
It wouldn't surprise me if the Asians started to make holographical houses :D

That sounds like the Sims or something... :P

As for the iTunes thing - I don't think it's the future of the music industry... what about Blueray and all that? :)

The Software is available (for FREE!) here:
