On what synth does Jarre play those eerie but beautiful choirs? I just love the female voice on Chronologie part 3? The strings are also absolutely fantastic! Anybody who knows? :)

Hey, not bad, not bad at all !!
I thought choirs were from the K2000 and the 01W, they seem to be only from the 01W !
It is a nice machine I will try to buy one day, the price doesn't seem to be too high ;) :)

I bought a Broken 01W for 90 UK pounds, its a very nice synth, not so many units made as the M1 so a little harder to find, plus many owners seem reluctant to sell, due to its sound...the sounds are a little dated compared to todays synths but it does lovely evolving pads and ethereal choirs, also used by Vangelis on 1492

On the topic of Jarre choirs,he mentioned in Music Technology mag in 93 that some choirs were off the CMI his Quote
"some choirs are from the CMI even if you have to Kick it to get it to work"

01W, 01WFD (+floppy), 01WPro (76 keys), 01WProX (88 keys), 01R/W (rack module)

I'd like to replace mine with the rack but it's quite hard to find... Well... Not now anymore since the keyboard is repaired actually.

I'm working a lot with it at the moment... For electric basses, tubular bells, choirs, marimba, flutes, ...
