Well,about that megamix,
I have a master version on DAT (the mix was done with a cassettedeck, using the pause button for editting and 2 TDK SA 60 cassettes to do the mix).
I used tapeloops (from reel to reel tapes) of a few drumrythmtracks of Jarretracks.
So i record a rythmtrack on reel to reeltape and i cut the first beat and the last beat and stick them together with special editingtape,so you have a continues loop when you play it on the taperecorder, using a selfmade setup made by LEGO stones
to lead the tape trought the heads of the taperecorder.
Then i record those loops on a Cassettetape for 5 minutes,i made a pitch control on another cassettedeck so i could match the tempo of the loops on the tracks i used in the megamix.
Then record all pieces i want on DAT and if the loops were in sync with the track played under that loop i record and edit it on the "master cassettedeck"
The mix is aprox 45 minutes, and with eldorado you hear a phasing effect.
that was another crucial point, cause then i made a "livemix" from the first cassettetape to another, because i used 60 minute cassettetapes and as you know each side contains 30 minutes;-)
So i must do a live crosover mix,to swith from the 1st mastertape to the second one.
And that recording was record on DAT.
Ahhhh.those were the days of hard working on a mix of that size and quality
;-)
Nowadays i can do it much better with the computer, using a program such as Ableton live;-)
But i have no plans to make copy's of that mix, because of the time i mostly don't have.
So you all must search on the internet or ask another fan for a copy.
Last year i found a site where some guy was selling Jarre bootlegs and one of those bootlegs was my megamix.
I made it for fun and some guy uses it to make money on it..
SHAME ON YOU!!!
So that's another reason that i don't make a copy of it.
Cheers,Marco
