What do you think, how should we celebrate Jarre's 60th birthday?

Why, are we all being invited to his birthday bash? :pwned:

Hi all

In order to celebrate JMJ's 60th anniversary, a fanmeeting is planned on 23th August 2008 probably in Paris by the French community Aerozone.

Artists are invited to perform their music on stage, and also the possibility to welcome very special guest (it is not confirmed yet).

Fans from all other the world are welcome. More informations soon...

Paris is a good place for such a fan meeting to take place. Four reasons for me to go:

1. Meet the fans.
2. See live bands.
3. Paris is beautiful.
4. The special guest.

8)

One reason for me not to go:

1. money. :(

How about expanding the idea? I know some of us would like to go, but can't... so, I've had a brainwave whilst occupied elsewhere...

There are a lot of musicians who, for whatever reason, can't get to a JMJ 60th party in the middle of Paris... so, how about for those who genuinely can't go a little something to make us feel like we're there among you all?

Ok, so here's the idea... Firstly.. because JMJ has as good as said 'do with my music as you will but credit me' the idea of tennis came to mind... now, the whole idea of tennis has got nothing to do with Wimbledon and how soon the Brits end up out of the competition, but it's like this...

Someone starts something... be it a video or a piece of music (must be JMJ music - of course and not ripped from a cd - keyboards people, KEYBOARDS!!! :D) and then someone else then expands on that (either by a little editing or adding of music/images) and then the next person adds a little bit and so on... by the time it's JMJs birthday, it's either going to end up a total mess, or the best fan collab ever produced.. BUT... it's worth thinking about... either way, it'll be all for fun :)

The only thing is.. when it comes to the music, do ensure that the next person to edit/add knows what you've done... just a few explanation notes in plain English help to know whats been done... save in a format thats compatible with both macs and PCs...

As for video... don't use watermarked pictures or video - not only do they look ugly, we know you've nicked them from somewhere on the net... don't bother, it's not worth it! I'm sure we have a good selection of pictures of JMJ over the years, the hands he's shook and all the rest of it - don't flood with the same image or stuff from the same year, not only does it look bad, it shows someone was short on material...

So there you go... tennis... and when its all edited together (by a nominated person) make sure that your name gets credited...

Want to think more about it? want to go ahead with a few friends? Feel free.... :D

Joyeux Anniversaire jean michel ... cliquez ici
