Save your money. The condition on that one is pretty rough. I got a near mint condition for half the price. Have faith, keep your eyes open and one will eventually turn up!

I just wish he would release a proper CD of Deserted Palace. I don't know the rights issue but I'm surprised they haven't since Les Granges Brulees was released from that same time period, roughly. If Dreyfus owns it, I'm surprised he wouldn't do it just to cash in.

Dreyfus released that as part of a series of soundtracks. I think there is major disinterest in DP except for a handfull of hardcore fans.

Makes sense... but was Les Granges Brûlées that much more popular. I have always thought that those two albums could be like brother and sister in terms of sound and mood.

Well, Desert Palace was an obscure release and LGB at least had a sort-of-popular track (Zig Zag).

And the film featured the infamous duo Delon & Signoret... I suppose the film was pretty popular at the time, so Dreyfus could always give it a go on the soundtrack trying to cash in...

Another nice item from EIL. CLICK HERE
It's a Mel Bush promotional brochure probably sent out to company executives. As usual with EIL the price is on the high side at £15 / 18.50 euros for 16 pages but the quality is excellent. Printed on high grade paper with a card cover, the photo's are brilliant and cover the period from Place de la Concorde to Docklands. I'll try to get some pics up soon.

I'm surprised that Dreyfus hasn't cashed in either. It may be that they don't have the rights to it - unlikely as some of the tracks are duplicated on each release - or Jarre has a veto on the release.

I would think there would be more interest from the majority of fans in DP than LGB, but I agree that the general public would have a better knowledge of LGB as it is a soundtrack to a fairly well known film - at least in France.

I know which album I would have preferred to have seen a release :D

That brochure doesn't contain any new pictures as far as I can see, except for the docklands one. Pictures of that event in high quality remain scarce. 18 e is too much for me.

I was thinking... too bad Jarre didn't re-record this album instead. Maybe even give it an update but keep the experimentation intact.

I have this on a bootleg CD (like everyone else as well as the original, but I would just love an official CD release, maybe in a cardboard cover with artwork reprinted from the original including the white insert inside.

And for a bonus on the CD, Two Tracks--La Cage/Erosmachine

Just dreaming of course...

The only early tracks that really appeal to me are La Cage/Erosmachine, Helza/Cartolina and I also recall enjoying the Triangle and Gérard Lenorman collaborations.

I agree... but since we have those as well as DP in decent quality on the Rarities CDs:
