The TV archive website TV Ark has two reports from Thames TV News regarding the Docklands concert, and the fire brigade looking to have it banned (which they got 2 weeks later :x )

These clips are available to download:

Scroll down to Thames News 1988, the 6pm and 10.30pm bulletins :D

Thanxs for the info, Pat. :D

The intros from the 2 news items take me back in time. :smoke:

I can't believe that I missed this concert. I am really mad at myself. :(

Lucky for the fans that the concert went ahead after these reports. Nothing was gonna prevent it. Must have reduced the fireworks and ticket sales slightly, to pass the safety rules. 8)

The main thing I remember that was cancelled was the helicopter flyby slated to begin the concert, and the stage (being 18 barges welded together) was supposed to move up and down the dock. The weather would have probably stopped this anyway
