I definitely have to agree with you on this one :punch:

Lately I've been watching "Biblical epics" and epics of the 50's/60's in general, and yeah after not having seen Ben-Hur for 4 years, I was surprised how well it stood up to all the stuff I've been re-watching from the same period.
Not to mention, compared to all the stuff that has come since that golden era. I can see why it deserves the 11 gongs.

Now moving onto El-Cid, another beatiful classic with an even greater score by Rózsa 8)

Just a heads-up for the UK members.

If you are into 80s music, on ITV1 tonight, at 10pm, there is a one hour programme - 'Now That's What I Call 1983' which takes a look back at that year, with those bands as they are today replaying what they did back then.

Wow, cringe worthy TV.

Of the 8 acts, only 1 played fully live - Howard Jones. Paul Young mimed, Nik Kershaw looked like he modelled himself on Gary Glitter. Infact I had to look twice to make sure it wasn't Glitter. Heavon 17 mimed (you know the drill, oh look, the keyboards work without any mains or audio leads). But what was interesting was to see how they acts had changed over 25 years.
