You're the expert :D

Nah, for most of the items you can give them some sort of rating for :

- collectability (how hard to obtain)
- usual selling price approx (estimated on your own experiences)

I know a site which uses colors for the first and stars for the second,
So for example if you are dealing with a quite rare item which usually sells for about 50 euros, it displays 2 orange stars... :)

Hope that helps..

yes that makes sense. But:..... there are close to 3000 items on my website, some 1300 of which I have in my own collection. See the point?

What I am doing at the moment (we've been talking about that yesterday) is to add "liner notes" to the sections: When you're in the "Equinoxe" section, for example, click on the top right icon (the album icon that's been sliced in 3 parts) and you'll get some additional information about what's collectable about the respective album....

Yeah I get it. But we're not in a hurry anyway, and if you want me to help, just yell. I'm not sure if you can do it for all items, as I'm not really into vinyl myself... :)

well... to give some kind of value to collectable items like Jarre records is virtually impossible. I have sold collectables of Jarre and many other artists on recordfairs all over europe since 1992 and I would considder myself pretty able to put a price tag on a record, however, prices raise and drop all of the time. I have seen La Cage selling for over 2000 Euro's, I have seen it not getting sold for 400 Euro's less than 2 years later. I know the Foggy Joe Zig Zag from France did 150 Euro EASY halfway the nineties... now you can pick it up for close to nothing.

You can rate the rarity with a 5 star or color thingy but don't put money next to it because it would be the same laughingstock as those collectors guide books!! The one reasonably correct way to determine somethings value is checking it on Ebay. Not for asking prices but selling value!

I wonder what an original copy of the B&O cd (one of the 1,00 only) is worth...

I only saw that one for sale once, and that's the one I bought. Be prepared to pay a few hundred euros, that's a fair price for that one I think :)

Best wishes!

ah, OK.... so chances to see one of these on eBay anymore are quite small... I cannot imagine that there's a better way to get "Interior Music".

Maybe eil.com would be an alternative (yes sure, they're expensive, but their quality is very good), but as far as I can see they don't have one of these at the moment...

Other Possibility is to contact the B&O store on Champs Elysées in paris (where the CD was presented back in 2001) to see if they have still some left...

as in "they don't have one / some left" or "they don't reply"?

I was there about one month after the shop opened, there were at least 2 of those CDs in them multi-CD-Players. "No we don't have any of them left" they replied to my question if they still have some....
