Wasn't it said that this compilation is to be released on both vinyl and CD?

I understand the interest in vinyl as a Limted Edition release and any pre-Oxygene material will certainly have an air of nostalgia to it being on vinyl.

And of course, vinyl is slowly making a come-back. I would hazard a guess and say a vinyl release would entice DJs into mixing these pre-Oxygene tracks into newer works out on their turntables.

"A group of men and woman entered the laboratory one month ago to live in a smell free world. Body odour, sweaty arms pits and smelly feet are to create the energy to survive. A total mystery surrounds this experiment, and it's project code name: B.O and Smell'i "

In fact, CD will be nostalgia in near future, because it will be replaced by flash memory or not even a physical media at all :-)

Vinyl will always survive :-)

What I would like is some of the demos that Jarre had whilst composing Oxygene and Equinoxe. I'd also love to see the AOR, Dorian, Deserted Palace, Cartolina, Helza, Happiness is a sad Song etc. material released.

I would say it's safe bet that this album will see a CD release, as well as a download and possibly a vinyl release. Maybe they're will be an extra track or so on iTunes ?

I will try to get both releases, CD and vinyl if they are both available. You never know what the future could bring. Having said that I have been saying I will buy a vinyl player for a long time. The hardcore fan in me will keep it as a collectors item. :fine: But the CD will hold the most importance for me. :p:

As for iTunes, yeah that would be great but how will I get JMJ to sign the original? :punch:

AOR ,Deserted Palace and others pre-oxygene are bad material released. I don't like it, and I will be very disapointed if there are in this future album :-(

In your opinion. Sure, time has not been kind to Deserted Palace, but from a musical point of view it's very interesting to see a young Jean Michel Jarre work with melodies and song structure. AOR, judging from the samples and the track on Bourges, is a more experimental and atmospheric sound collage, maybe only interesting for completists like me, but nevertheless extremely interesting seeing in the light of the GRM and Jarre's work under Pierre Schaeffer. Besides, AOR has never been released, despite being talked about.

But you can't deny Helza is one of Jarre's finest work, as well as Hypnose. I would be more than happy to finally hear these on CD.

You may not like the pre Oxygene material, but to say it's totally crap is a bit of an overstatement to be fair. Deseted Palace, Helza, Cartolina to name but a few are superb compositions. There was some dross for sure: Freedom Day, Zig Zag Dance, some of the Le Grange Bruless soundtrack but that's only my opinion.

Let's not forget Equinoxe 5 was already made in 1975.

Aswell as Rendez-vous 3 :P

But I have to say that Equinoxe 5 with that guitarish sound, is really awfull even if it's the song track

But Hypnose and Cartolina are both very enjoyable, and a couple of tracks on Deserted Palace and Les Granges Brulees sound very nice. (I know that LGB is already released but it's pre-oxygene)
