The French artist guest of Keynote

With MTV Digital Days 2015, the 11 and 12 September at the Reggia di Monza, we'll take a look at the future of music and technology, thanks to the programme full of meetings, the startup of the ' Innovation Village and Electro Nights that will make us dance with DJ sets most innovative of the moment. But we must look ahead to know the past. And 'why the opening of this year is entrusted to a very special guest: Jean Michel Jarre , a pioneer of electronic music with albums like "Oxygene" and "Equinoxe"

The French artist was in fact one of the first to understand the potential of synths, but mostly it was the first to organize large events live rich lights, lasers, visual fireworks. Complete with a concert in the Place de la Concorde, in Paris, with more than a million spectators!

Virtually it created the basis from which the various parties are David Guetta , Calvin Harris , Avicii , Martin Garrix , Skrillex and all other superstar DJs of the moment for their live show.

From Italy:

Streaming is "not bad", Spotify and Apple Music "are not enemies," the digitization of the entertainment industry is an irreversible process ("Now we're in)," in the music business, "there have never been so as much money as now, "the problem, if anything, is that" there are online platforms cashing billion, while those who produce content touches the equivalent of a pizza. " Word of the maestro Jean Michel Jarre, the genius of electronic music, author of "Oxygene" (1976) that over 18 million copies sold holds the record for the most successful French disc of all time, but also President of CISAC, the International Confederation of society of authors and composers, which also adheres to the SIAE.

It is in the Villa Reale in Monza for the MTV Digital Days going on these days, engaged in the promotion of "Electronica 1: The Digital Days," the first act out on October 18 for Sony Music in an ambitious recording project in two parts that saw work shoulder to shoulder ("In the recording studio, as it was once") with the elite electronics world and not only among artists who influenced him (Pete Townshend of The Who, chosen because "in" Who's Next "was the first to use electronics in rock 'and Laurie Anderson," a goddess of electronics "), his traveling companions in the seventies (Tangerine Dream) and artists on which he has exerted a profound influence (Vince Clarke ex Depeche Mode, Moby or Massive Attack). An ambitious album that perfectly expresses the idea that Jarre electronics which on one hand "more than a musical genre itself is a way of making music," the other is a "discourse throughout Europe that has nothing to do with the United States, "says citing his experience alongside that of the Germans Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream or fellow Air and Daft Punk," because it is a sort of evolution of classical music. " Talk about music but also of music economics, without turning around questions. Starting from the stream, "is not bad in itself. It is that we have to arrange an economy around. Tools such as Spotify and Apple Music are not our enemies, yet there is a contradiction: there have never been so much money in the music business and more ingenerale entertainment industry but at the same time I'm never arrived so few content producers. So it does not work: things must change or there will be more content producers. " There's also a reference to the sensational views expressed by Taylor Swift last summer, his decision to come out of Spotify and the tug of war (won) with Apple's music revenues in the free trial period of the streaming platform, "Taylor Swift to raise the issue, it was felt, was well placed to be heard. Our specialty is making noise and that's exactly what we have to do. " In any case, the point of view of Jarre on the issue is far from pessimistic: "For now we are at the beginning of a process and then certain mechanisms are mysterious: the steps of money from streaming platforms and the majors, for example . These take substantial advances from the first and sometimes they possess the shares. All of which content authors are unaware but that will change. Without a fight: we simply put them all around the table. " He also talks about digital technology and quality of the music, a field in which he fielded his Jarre Technologies: "One day we will look to mp3 as today we look at the 78s and the gramophone. It is the beginning of a century and the beginning of a path. Everything can be improved: we must start from this concept. " The technological revolution, as it was obvious it was, has increased the opportunities for electronic music ("There is simply more material than in the past. Not for this shortage of quality works") and DJs often took instead of the rock star. Someone makes art, sure, but they are not all equal. Because "some simply put the disc."
