Just listened to it, thanks to Toman.
Very nice., But not very Equinoxe I think.
As other have said a bit Vangelis. A bit Ind Rev Part 2.
Also it reminds me of the Terminator theme a little.
..and a lot Kebu.Jarreshair wrote:Just listened to it, thanks to Toman.

There's no resemblence except "both tracks have arpeggiated synth bass"Phil wrote:..and a lot Kebu.Jarreshair wrote:Just listened to it, thanks to Toman.

No resemblance? I do not know if you are serious. The main melody is the same, some of the arrangements too.Jote wrote:There's no resemblence except "both tracks have arpeggiated synth bass"Phil wrote:..and a lot Kebu.Jarreshair wrote:Just listened to it, thanks to Toman.

I see it as a tribute to Kebu... I'm not saying that JMJ made a "cover". But when I listen to this song, the theme of "To Jupiter and Back" is obvious. It's like seeing a cow in a hallway.Jote wrote:Please point me to the exact time indexes in both tracks where the "main melody" is "the same". And those other arrangements that are "the same" as well.
The chord progressions are different too, by the way.
Maybe it's somehow obvious to *you*. I don't know how other people perceive music. Bringing up "a cow in hallway" does not prove anything. There's tons of tracks that sound "similar", because, well, that's "electronic music" and arp synth bass with delay and plucks with delay are its pretty standard elements.Phil wrote:I see it as a tribute to Kebu... Lol? No, I shouldn't. This is not a "referendum". Whether the "main melody is the same" (as you claim) is not up to the "general public" to decide. Just like you wouldn't ask the general public what the correct answer to "2 + 2 * 2 + 2 * 0 = ?" is, because usually ~90% of them are wrong (even though it's very basic math). It can be however easily proven by e.g. writing down the notes and chords of both. You should posted this link [...] in the facebook thread "leak of 'Flying Totems'" [...] You will see how many people think there is no resemblance.
...and there we go with an ad personam.Phil wrote:I feel like I'm reading a 5-year-old kid, pretentious and arrogant.
You said "The main melody is the same". That might be an opinion, but the FACT (as in actual notes) is that it is NOT the same. One might as well have an "opinion" that "owls don't exist", even though facts say otherwise.I do not want to prove anything, everyone has their opinion.
