If reffering to history - that's truth that we can't change what already happened, but we should find right attitude to past events - being honest enough to admit: "that and that was a mistake" and - what's IMHO most important - have some coclusion for the future. I think the truth is the best way.
I've said all these these things about history as in my country we're still having problems with facing with the past and the past is an important part of Poland's international contacts - that's also a tool to create society's views on other nationalities, sometimes used to manipulate.

Yes sure but as were talking Stereotypes that is exactly how it is seen fro mthe outside view UK dont have financial issues like say Poland because we are of a strong economy per se,but with Poland from how i can see it now your part of the European domain new barriers are being lifted for Polish people to build a new life for themselves not only in Poland but within Europe,We as the UK have seen a dramatical rise of Polish workers ,coming into the UK to find jobs and as a result there has been a decline in british Employment in certain sectars,which is fine in reality as man of the Polish people are coming here doing jobs that the ordinary Britain doesnt want to do,by that i dont mean poorly paid but many Skilled jobs including carpentry/Plumbing etc which are good paid jobs and because they are prepared to work for less,then it undercuts the traditonal English workers share of the Work,people always want the cheaper labour.
I have no desire to engage in a political debate on why they should or shouldnt be here for me as long as someone is willing to work and pay there way then thats fine and all those people who complain that Imigration is taking there Own countries employment away from them are just basically blind the Polish are just looking for a better way of life same with any other person coming here or to an other country to work..
With regards to your History there is a lot of regret especially given the Eastern Block connection,it is the same with Communism that used to be part of the Chinese culture,you go there today and the people whilst not living under communism are still oppresed,its like they have been given the freedom to a certain extent but dont know how to fully cope with it many of the older generation still dress in the traditional communist attitudes,its harder to forget the past if your living in the present but have survived the past, again it can only be eroded away by a newer generation who can put it to the vaults of history and move on,but even so that generations problems will be eluded and passed onto the next generation.you can blame the past for the inheritance but its only then can you learn to move on from it,I'm sure in decades to come Poland will see a new dawning on the Countries prospects and Political issues. does Solidatory not represent a start to a new direction!!it certainly does from where i'm standing.
as for the outside worlds view on the UK,i don't care much for it otherwise its the repercussions of the Actions that the Government which will put paid to outside view and actions against us,only yesterday we were on high alert of a terrorist attack one of the arrsted suspect was infact an English white person who had been converted to Islam,so if he has to defend the nature of the government by acting against the very society that he lives within what have we got to thrwo at the Political system to stop this babaric conversion..again it is of western policy that has created that enemy from within,something which shouldn't be happening but will forever be tied to us in History and the future
