The album is at the 3th place at the moment in the hit charts of the Belgian iTunes. Never went more down than the 5th place since the release on 1 January. πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘

Greetings,

In the European itunes charts in general it is doing well

But then again, what do charts mean nowadays if Ed Sheeran can have 9 of the 10 positions of the uk singles chart top 10 in one week?

I wonder whether it's possible to piece together an applause-less version of Oxygene 2 from the concert version and the original Kosinski's remix... I think it might be

Hmm, if I google that catalog number, I get two URLs: the Discogs one and this thread. I doubt it's real. Artwork looks like it's fan-made too, the back of the CD especially.

Yeah, those images don't look like scans to me TBH.

Hmm, someone seems to have marked it as an Unofficial Release some time after it was originally posted

Is that an euphemism for "FAKE AS F**K"?

Oh yes.

(I wish I had been able to use that non-euphemism in the description for this one I submitted a few years back ;) https://www.discogs.com/Jean-Michel-Jar ... e/10455344)

Just received confirmation from Aero Productions that it's definitely a fake.

Worry not, for the bootleg book is now up for grabs!

Posted this on the concert thread, reposting it here on the releases thread

I've bought the MP3 files of Welcome to The Other Side from Amazon. Both Zero Gravity and Time Machine are listed as having "contributing artists" as JMJ & Tangerine Dream and JMJ & Boys Noize, but there is no mention of Armin van Buuren for Stardust. Why is this?

Also, Oxy 2 and Oxy 4 are clearly labelled as remixes, but Zero Gravity has no mention of it being the Above & Beyond remix. Seems a shame that Above & Beyond and Armin van Buuren are getting no credit here.

Yeah, it's odd. Maybe it's a contractual thing?

I guess the source for the bootleg might be the youtube stream, as there is the pre-intro track (which sounds like a looped "Time-Machine" bass for me somehow).

But now, after hearing the tracks for some time - hm. I don`t get it. Really, I always adored JMJs music, he did so futuristic albums & concerts, ahead of it`s time. At the age of 11 the first record I bought was Oxygene in 1985, and there was nothing simply close genuine sound for me.

Later I learned that the cheering and applause in the Docklands live recording was looped, added, edited.
Even more, that the "Concerts in China" might have been recorded afterwards.
This takes a lot of the enthusiasm for me.

And now THIS fake sitcomlike cheering and applause in this record. It feels ankward. I even feel sorry.
The question for me is - why? Why does JMJ decide to do it this way? Why is this enough? Are there people around who say it has to be this way, it would be the right choice?

I need to listen to WFC over and over to get over it, I think ;)

Addendum:

I mean, who else does this this way? JMJ doesn`t need to add this cheering.
I understand the point to add some "live vibe" with real audience, but ..fake? no.

Quite the opposite (I now they are not comparable) is doing Kraftwerk. The had some
audience in the "Minimum Maximum" records, but decided to release another live records
without audience voice - because the audience is no part of the musical output ;)
