Yes, bothered me too.
Thanks, I always feel I sound like a nutjob that nobody actually understands when I write these kinds of things :)

I dare to say that JM and management itself already have different concept for the fore-planned '26 tour.
You mean this talk of an "Oxygene @ 50" show? Or a tour themed around the album's anniversary?

I have an idea for this, I need to share it here! For a one-off evening summer spectacular.

It involves two locations in Paris. Bit like his 2004 Forbidden City concert and then the mini show at Tiananmen Square, but in reverse.... the show starts with a small scale mini gig on Rue de la Tremoille, outside the apartment block where he lived in the summer of 1976 when he composed Oxygene in his kitchen.

The music would be like those unplugged tracks (Band In The Rain, Equinoxe 3) that he did in the early 1990s. Superminimalist. One man, one keyboard, like he's busking on the streets of Paris. Plays a sort of Oxygene montage of motifs and remixed themes. All mini pops and white noise swooshes.

He then hails a taxi, and travels to the Place de la Concorde, the site of his first mega show, where a full, modern hightech stage - with band! - awaits him. And a big crowd, who has just watched the Rue de la Tremoille mini gig on the big screens.

Like when he arrived in Monaco by boat, he arrives at Place de la Concorde by taxi and is ushered up onto the stage through the crowds by security.

He then uses the latest video mapping on the adjacent buildings, and the latest visual tech, to play a big outdoor, free spectacular one last time. Heavy emphasis in the track listing on Oxygene but other hits too. He gets to perform the show he always wanted to perform back in 1979 when technology was more limited.

Place de la Concorde was the site of the Paralymic opening show last summer and that event showed it has amazing potential with the latest technology.

Anyway, my idea.... linking the origin of Oxygene (that kitchen in the apartment) with the site of its first live performance in 1979. A sort of nostalgia trip, by revisiting different locations but nevertheless very modern and fresh.

A celebration of Paris and of (his) electronic music. He can then retire to St Tropez.

What an odd time for such a concert. I know the sun doesn't set in Helsinki until 22:50, but still it's way too early.

Helsinki got Rendez-Vous 4. Probably instead of Industrial Revolution 2, seeing it was immediately followed by Magnetic Fields 2.

That intro for Oxygene 2 sounds a little bit to Shine on You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd

🙂 You definitely don't sound like a nutjob! I'm not musically trained and I often can't hear the things you describe but I always enjoy reading these observations. Don't stop!
